Known for the laser beams that shoot from his eyes, he is also one of the commanders for the X-Men. Having a tragic background, and a future that loomed over him, Cyclops was a character that no one could avoid. From his serious demeanor to his hidden love for Jean, Cyclops is incredibly famous. About Cyclops

Cyclops is also known by Scott Summers. His parents were “killed” when aliens destroyed their private jet mid-flight as a child. He survived by using his mutant ability to slow him and his brother’s descent by using his laser vision.

Background

When they crashed, Scott was in a coma for around a year, waking up only to subconsciously burn down the roof of the hospital. After about another year in a coma, he woke up fully. After that, he was a test subject for Mr. Sinister for years and the rest of his childhood. He was then rescued and mentored by Professor X, who trained him in his powers and molded him into an X-Men team commander. From there, his story would be filled with tragedy, love, and hate. His ability was highly desired, even though he couldn't fully control it because of a head injury. His story is encaptivating to follow and his ability is so awesome that Cyclops has become a beloved X-Men Character. That is why his figures are so desired and collectible.

Special Abilities

His first and foremost power is his optic blast, which is the ruby-colored lasers that shoot from his eyes. These blasts are so powerful that he can shoot these beams through a mountain! In addition to this, the forces that create the beams in his head also protect him from his own beams. Which means he cannot hurt himself with his own ability.

Other Important X-Men Characters

Some of the most important characters to Cyclops are Jean Grey and Professor Xavier. Let’s take a closer look at them.

Jean Grey

The center of Cyclop’s love and attention that he could never tell her. Of course, she also had a crush on him but was too shy to ever tell him. Jean didn’t know of her own powers until she was around 11. They only awakened because her childhood friend was hit by a car right in front of her. This caused Jean’s Telepathic abilities to awaken, her parents took her for help. Her help just so happened to be Professor Charles Xavier. Once she had a good handle on her powers, he asked her to join the X-Men. She immediately fell in love with Cyclops, he loved her too, but both were too shy to admit it.

Professor X

The main man and reason for this whole series, Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X). He figured out his telepathic powers at age 10 and graduated from Harvard by age 16. He was also a Korean War veteran. Shortly after ending his relationship during the Korean war, he began traveling the globe searching out mutants to help them. It was then he found not only his love but found out about a future alien invasion and thwarted their plans. However, in retaliation for ruining their plans, they dropped a giant rock on his legs. While he was rescued, his legs would never be usable again. It was after this he began Professor X’s School for Gifted Youngsters, aka the X-Men.
