Optimus Prime Transformers - Figures
Transformers was and still remains one of the biggest action figure franchises the world has ever seen. Starting in the early 1980s as a Japanese toy line called Microman and Diaclone, the toys were soon rebranded and resold in America as Transformers. American toy company Hasbro had found great success with the Microman line rebranded as G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, and made negotiations with Takara Tomy to bring the Diaclone toys to the United States as Transformers. Jim Shooter and Dennis O’Neil were responsible for the creation of the Transformers backstory. One of the characters created by the duo was Optimus Prime. Iconic, Optimus Prime is the most recognizable of all of the Transformers and without a doubt the most popular. Soon after, the first series of Transformers the animation was broadcast from September 17, 1984, to November 11, 1987. During this time Optimus Prime was the de facto leader of the Autobots locked in an eternal battle against the evil forces of the Decepticons led by the cruel and vicious Megatron. In the 2000s a number of Transformers live-action movies were produced and directed by Michael Bay. These movies also feature prominently the heroic Optimus Prime in the Autobots’ struggle to fit in on Earth and save their planet. Transformers Optimus Prime Non-Scale Figure
An astounding representation of the original G1 Optimus Prime. With exaggerated proportions lending a thick and strong appearance, Prime is most certainly a force to be reckoned with. Toys-Alliance has done Prime great justice with regards to the coloring and design. The design is more detailed than the original, but with the exception of purists, the more modern style is definitely something everyone can appreciate. Fully articulated and coming with Prime’s signature Ion Blaster Rifle, this figure is close to perfection.

Furai Model Transformers Optimus Prime: G1 Ver.
Generation 1 Optimus Prime is absolutely incredible. Without a doubt, he is the one Autobot that all the Decepticons fear deeply. Armed with an Ion Blaster and an energy axe (as opposed to Megatron’s energy flail) Prime is certainly packing heat. Fully articulated and capable of any number of poses Flame Toys’ Furai Model Optimus Prime sure is a looker. Recreate the best scenes from the original animation and the original animated movie with ease as part of a dynamic display with other transformers figures. The fact that this figure is only 160mm but has such fluid articulation is surely an awesome feat of sculpting and assembling.

Premium Scale Optimus Prime Collectible Figure
To be quite frank, this figure is gobsmackingly amazing. Not only is it a massive 48.5cm, but it also has over 85 unique points of articulation. That is absolute madness. The range of motion ThreeA Toys’ Optimus Prime achieves is simply unreal. Imagination is the limiting factor when it comes to posing this figure. Also included are dual cyber swords and blade knuckles. The eyes and headlights have a battery-powered light-up feature bringing life to the giant Autobot leader.

About Optimus Prime
Optimus Prime is the leader of the good Transformers, the Autobots. He leads them against the evil Megatron and his Decepticon army. Since The Great War (Third Cybertronian War) Prime has been trying to beat back the Decepticons and win back his home planet of Cybertron.
Background
Optimus Prime was originally known as Orion Pax, a data clerk in the capital city of Iacon on the planet Cybertron who was chosen by the elder council to wield the matrix of leadership, thereby becoming the mighty Optimus Prime. After this and many battles with the Decepticon insurgents, both parties head into space to discover sources of energy to continue their war efforts and revitalize Cybertron. Unfortunately, both ships crashed-landed on Earth and the Autobots and Decepticons lay dormant for millions of years.
Special Abilities
Prime is the leader of the Autobots and therefore possesses the matrix of leadership. The matrix of leadership is an item that contains the power of Primus (the god of the Autobots and twin brother of Unicron) and the wisdom of all of the Primes. Optimus Prime also wields a powerful Ion Blaster and an energy axe.
Other Important Transformers Characters
The cast of Transformers is plentiful and full of color. There are as many different personalities as there are vehicles and many could be said to be important to the series. There are two however who come to mind especially considering G1 Optimus Prime and the original animated motion picture, Transformers The Movie.
Megatron
Megatron has been fighting Prime for eons. Locked in an eternal battle between good and evil, Megatron stops at nothing to get one over on the Autobot leader; until the dreaded events of the original animated movie. Megatron was the one to finally put Optimus Prime down. Arguably there was never a Transformer capable of doing this except for Megatron. Following the events of this Megatron himself was near death and given new life by the infinitely powerful Unicron.
Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime
Hot Rod, it could be argued, is the cause of Prime’s demise. During the scrap between Prime and Megatron, Hot Rod intervened to try and help Prime but instead became a human (Autobot) shield allowing Megatron to land a number of decisive hits on Prime’s torso with a laser gun. Hot Rod did however inherit the matrix of leadership after Ultra Magnus and became Rodimus Prime (much to fans’ dismay).
