About Velvet Crowe

Velvet Crowe is the main character of Tales of Berseria, cursed by a demon she is looking for revenge. As a result, she joins a pirate ship and journeys through the kingdom of Midgand looking for vengeance.

Background

Velvet Crowe's story begins 3 years before the start of the game. Initially being kind and caring, everything changed after demons attacked her village where her beloved younger brother Laphicet was killed. Trying to save him, she is cursed by a demon in the process and her left-hand is bestowed with daemonic powers. This is where her journey to find revenge begins.

Special Abilities

Velvet Crowe has great close-combat skills, including fighting with her gauntlet blade. However, her ability to unleash her daemonic powers using her left arm is what she is most famous for.

Velvet Crowe engages with a variety of individuals through her journey, forming friendships and allies as well as enemies. Here are two characters important to the story.

Laphicet

Laphicet, only 10 years old, is one of the youngest protagonists in the story. He is born a Malak, a race enslaved and used by the Abbey's exorcists as magical tools. He is shy and withdrawn with no personality until Velvet Crowe captures him. However, being part of the crew, they grow close and he finds a meaning of self.

Magilou

Magilou is a mysterious character in the Tales of Berseria. Imprisoned by the Abbey for unlicensed magic, she meets Velvet Crowe, and together they escape. She fights using ritual paper to call on magical guardians of fire and water. Furthermore, her quirky and unconventional attitude combined with her extravagant court jester inspired look make her a fan favorite.
