OtapediaPrincess Zelda Breath of the Wild - Figures

Breath of the Wild changed up what most fans expected from the Legend of Zelda franchise. The storyline exists somewhere outside the established timelines. The gameplay introduced open-world RPG elements. Breath of the Wild also, significantly, gave fans a new spin of the titular Princess Zelda. Now a scholar frustrated with her struggles to realize her destiny, Zelda receives ample screen time through memories as the player progresses through the game. Here are two Princess Zelda figures that showcase her new personality from Breath of the Wild: "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Zelda: Collector's Edition Statue," and the "Nendoroid Zelda: Breath of the Wild Ver".

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Zelda: Collector's Edition Statue Figure

First 4 Figures delivers an exceptionally beautiful Princess Zelda in this hand-painted collector's edition statue. Zelda stands stoically atop a Sheikah eye themed base. The base itself features LED lighting to display Zelda with a glowing sense of ancient technology. The Sheikah Slate she holds has the same LED running through it to complete the scene. Her long, blond hair wafts behind her as if caught in the wind. The figure includes a protective collector's box to protect the statue from damage. Inside the box functions as a diorama backdrop depicting the fields of Hyrule.

About Princess Zelda

Princess Zelda is the namesake character in the Legend of Zelda franchise and one of the three most important central figures. In Breath of the Wild, Zelda appears only in flashbacks and through voice-overs until the final chapter of the game.

Background

Princess Zelda is the princess of Hyrule tasked with sealing away Calamity Ganon. Zelda, a curious and intelligent young woman, holds more interest in studying ancient technology than trying to tap into her sealing powers. However, Zelda secretly grows frustrated with herself for failing to master the sealing powers and takes her self-resentment out on the Hyrulean champion, Link. Over time, her changing relationship and closeness with Link play a key role in awakening her powers. When Link sacrifices himself to save her, Zelda's full abilities manifest. She spends the next 100 years locked in battle with Calamity Ganon to keep him at bay.

Abilities

Zelda's quest to unlock her spiritual abilities comprise most of Breath of the Wild's backstory. Together with Link, Zelda visited the Springs of Wisdom, Courage, and Power to pray to the goddess Hylia. Once her abilities awaken, Zelda can access the power from the Triforce to counteract Ganon's power. Before unlocking her power, Zelda trained in basic archery combat. She also possesses a working knowledge of ancient technology.

Other Important The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Characters

Breath of the Wild exists in a slightly different continuity than the existing Zelda timelines. The story's characters may appear in other entries in the franchise but their roles in Breath of the Wild differ.

Link

Link is the hero and player character throughout the Legend of Zelda franchise. In Breath of the Wild, Link awakens in a strange land stripped of his memory and most of his clothes. Link learns about the Great Calamity and that Princess Zelda remains in Hyrule Castle holding Ganon with her seal. As he travels, he starts to remember his great destiny from 100 years prior. He helps the domains of Hyrule reclaim control over their Divine Beasts from Ganon and reconnects with the spirits of the fallen Champions.

Calamity Ganon

Calamity Ganon is an evil force and the major antagonist in Breath of the Wild. 100 years before the events of the game, a prophecy foretold the return of Calamity Ganon. When she finally unlocked her powers, Princess Zelda sealed Ganon away in Hyrule Castle for 100 years. Link must fight the corrupted remnants of Calamity Ganon present within the Divine Beasts throughout the events of the game. By defeating Dark Beast Ganon, Link finally frees Princess Zelda and begins lifting the Calamity from Hyrule.

Champions of Hyrule

The Champions of Hyrule are four warriors chosen for their strength to pilot the Divine Beasts.
The Champions include Mipha from Zora's Domain, Daruk of the Gorons, Urbosa from Gerudo, and Revali of the Rito. As they trained, Princess Zelda developed a close relationship with Urbosa in particular. Ultimately, Princess Zelda's inability to unlock her sacred abilities in time led to the Champions' deaths.
