Kaido One Piece - Figures

Today, the One Piece franchise is a global phenomenon that has taken the entire world by storm. It first began as a manga series created by Eiichiro Oda that has been published in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997. Two years after the manga’s debut, an anime adaptation produced by Toei began airing and continues to do so every week. The One Piece franchise would even expand into other kinds of media like video games, theater, and more. With a reputation so large, it is no surprise that there is an incredible amount of merchandise for fans to collect. This is especially true for figures of the many characters that appear throughout the series. One such character is Kaido, one of the strongest beings that ever lived. This figure from Bandai’s Ichibansho line features Kaido after he has shifted into his dragon form. His long, blue and yellow body wraps around itself as it seems to float on top of a cloud in the sky, adding a sense of intimidation to the figure, as if it were towering over his enemies. Furthermore, Kaido also has several massive horns sprouting from his head and has a mouth full of sharp, deadly teeth.

One Piece Mega World Collectable Figure Kaido of the Beasts

This figure takes Kaido’s massive design and shrinks it down into a small, chibi-style figure. Kaido is posed standing straight up as he crosses his arms. His face shows an incredibly angry scowl, showing that he is not in the best of moods. Although he is not in his dragon form, his incredibly muscular form, the giant pair of horns on his head, and his malicious glare is more than enough to scare nearly anyone that happened to stand in his way. This figure is also priced fairly reasonably, making it easy for fans to add it to their collection.

Portrait of Pirates One Piece Wa-Maximum Kaido of the Beasts Figure

This figure from MegaHouse stands over a foot tall, making it nearly as massive as Kaido himself. Aside from its sheer size, this impressive recreation of Kaido is posed as if he were about to head into battle, as he seems to be staring down his opponent as he grasps onto his trusty iron club. Kaido’s body is also surrounded in beautiful red and blue flames that coalesce into his dragon form, which hangs behind him, adding to his already intimidating presence.

About Kaido

Kaido is one of the Four Emperors and acts as the main antagonist of the Wano Country Arc. The following is a short summary of his character.

Background

Although not much of Kaido’s life as a child is known, it is stated that he was an apprentice of the Rocks Pirates when they fought against Monkey D. Garp and the Roger Pirates forty years before the series began. After the Rocks Pirates was disbanded, Kaido was captured by the Marines and sentenced to death numerous times, though each attempt failed. This led to Kaido becoming known as the “Strongest Creature”. Eventually, Kaido gathered his own crew and founded the Beast Pirates and grew powerful enough to be called one of the Four Emperors, alongside Shanks, Big Mom, and Whitebeard. Kaido later formed a partnership with Kurozumi Orochi after he was named Shogun of Wano Country, eventually leading to the defeat of Kozuki Oden and the beginning of the downfall of Wano.

Special Abilities

Kaido is shown time and time again to have herculean amounts of strength and durability. Even Gear Fourth Luffy stood no chance against Kaido when the two fought for the first time, showing just how formidable Kaido can be. To make matters worse, Kaido also has the powers of the Fish-Fish Fruit, which allows him to transform into a massive Eastern-style dragon. While his size alone is great enough to cause concern, this fruit also seems to give the user elemental attacks like fire breath as well.

Other Important One Piece Characters

Two characters that are closely connected to Kaido’s character are Big Mom and Kozuki Oden. The following passages are brief overviews of their respective characters.

Charlotte Linlin

Charlotte Linlin, who also goes by the alias “Big Mom”, is one of the Four Emperors and, like Kaido, was an apprentice of the Rock Pirates before they were forcibly disbanded. She has the powers of the Soul-Soul Fruit, which allow her to manipulate the souls and life energy of any that fear death. Big Mom and Kaido create an alliance in the Wano Country Arc, making the first known alliance between two of the Four Emperors.

Kozuki Oden

Kozuki Oden was a member of the Kozuki Family and was the heir to the Shogunate of Wano Country up until he decided to set out to sea with Whitebeard’s crew (and later Roger’s crew). When Oden returned, he found that Kurozumi Orochi had taken his place as Shogun and, with the help of Kaido, made it impossible to reclaim his rightful place as Shogun.
