OtapediaEvileye Overlord - Figures

The Overlord franchise is a fantasy series of novels that were first published on the web in 2010 by Kugane Maruyama but later printed by Enterbrain two years later. As of early 2021, there are fourteen volumes of the light novels published under Enterbrain’s label. After the light novel series gained a significant amount of fans, studio Madhouse produced an anime adaptation of the series that debuted on television in 2015. Following the first season of the anime, several other seasons were greenlit as well, with the most recent being the third season, which aired in July 2018. Overall, the Overlord franchise is rated highly by fans, leading to manufacturers creating a decent selection of merchandise for fans to collect. One of the most popular types of merchandise is the collectible figure, which recreates many characters from a given series. Evileye is one such character and has a few different figures that recreate her likeness. One particularly popular figure of this character is the “Overlord III Evileye 1/7 Scale Figure” from Phat!.

Overlord III Evileye 1/7 Scale Figure

This figure from Phat! features the adamantite-ranked adventurer as she appears in a unique illustration from Overlord’s artist, so-bin. Her outfit consists of a tattered black dress with a keyhole on her chest. She also wears matching gloves and leggings, which are similarly filled with holes. The iconic red cloak she usually wears is torn to shreds and scattered around her, as are several blue rose petals to allude to her membership of the Blue Roses. She also wears her mask as well, though it is shattered, exposing her fierce red eyes and vampire fangs. That said, this mask is also completely removable as well, which allows the figure’s user to see her entire face if they so wish. The circular base of this figure is also painted to look like a stone marble floor, adding a refined look to the rest of the figure.

About Evileye

Evileye, who also goes by Keno Fasris Invern and Landfall, is a highly ranked adventurer and a member of the Blue Roses. The following is a brief look at her character.

Background

Before becoming a vampire, Evileye was a human that was highly proficient with magic and had a unique ability that allowed her to copy any spell she came across. After copying a spell that turned people into undead creatures, Evileye turned herself into a true vampire and gave herself the name “Landfall”. Although many details about Evileye’s tales prior to recorded history are unknown, she was once at the same party as the Thirteen Heroes. This, however, contradicts the few accounts of Landfall that do exist, as they say, that Landfall was defeated by the Thirteen Heroes. Despite the contradiction, Landfall was eventually found by Rigrit Bers Caurau, took up the name Evileye, and became a member of the Blue Roses - an all-female group of adamantite-ranked adventurers.

Special Abilities

Evileye’s magical abilities focus mainly on earth-based spells, which she often uses to create crystal projectiles and weapons against her enemies. Due to her earth-based magic, however, she is considerably weak against spells that counter this element. Aside from her magical abilities, Evileye also has a “Talent” that allows her to copy a spell that she is targeted with or witnesses herself. After using this Talent to turn herself into a vampire, her spell copying Talent became the only thing that allowed Evileye to keep her intelligence, as the spell she copied simply turned people into mindless zombies. As such, if her Talent or the spell she copied were interrupted, she would cease to be a self-aware being.

Other Important Overlord Characters

Two characters that have an important connection to Evileye include Ainz Ooal Gown and Narberal Gamma. The following is a quick look at both characters.

Ainz Ooal Gown

Ainz Ooal Gown is the main protagonist of Overlord and is the ruler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. After seemingly being teleported into a realistic version of YGGDRASIL - a popular DMMO-RPG - Ainz was left confused and unsure of what the world around him had become. This uncertainty led him to disguise himself as the adventurer Momon in the hopes of learning more about the world around him. His quests as an adventurer eventually cause him to meet Evileye. After he saves Evileye from Jaldabaoth, she immediately falls in love with Ainz, adding another person to Ainz’s list of female admirers, which also includes others like Albedo and Shalltear Bloodfallen.

Narberal Gamma

Narberal Gamma is a member of Pleiades, a squad of combat-oriented maids that serve the Great Tomb of Nazarick. She is a doppelganger that was created by Nishikienrai, one of the founding members of the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, before YGGDRASIL became reality and Ainz adopted the guild’s name as his own. When Ainz travels as Momon, he has Narberal accompany him under the alias Nabe. Evileye is incredibly jealous of Nabe in many ways. On one hand, she simply would like to become Momon’s traveling companion. On the other hand, she also wishes to have a more mature body like Nabe’s, as Evileye was turned into a vampire at a young age.
