OtapediaRob Lucci One Piece - Figures

The One Piece franchise is an incredibly popular manga series created by Eiichiro Oda that made its debut in July 1997. It was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, where it is still published to date. After over a thousand chapters of the manga published in a highly competitive magazine like Shonen Jump, it is no surprise that One Piece has an incredible amount of fans around the world. To satisfy the overwhelming amount of demand for merchandise from these fans, a similar amount of products have been produced, with one of the most popular types of merchandise being figures. Although characters like the Straw Hat Pirates certainly have more variety to choose from, other minor characters are still popular enough to get figures of their own. One such character is Rob Lucci, a member of CP-0 and an antagonist from the Water 7 Saga. Some of the most popular figures of Lucci include the “Ichiban Figure One Piece Great Banquet Rob Lucci”, the “Figuarts Zero Rob Lucci One Piece Film: Gold Ver.”, and the “Variable Action Heroes One Piece Rob Lucci”.

About Rob Lucci

Prior to the time skip, Rob Lucci was a main antagonist of the Water 7 Saga and a member of CP-9, though was later promoted to CP-0. The following is a brief look at his character.

Background

From a young age, Lucci was trained to become a member of CP-9, a highly-skilled unit of Marine-sanctioned assassins. When he was only thirteen years old, he was sent on a mission to prevent a pirate captain from being named king of an unnamed nation. Although the pirate captain had hundreds of soldiers held captive for ransom, Lucci killed all of the hostages and the pirate crew, showing just how powerful he would eventually become. Many years later, Lucci and the rest of CP-9 is sent to Water 7 to retrieve the blueprints for Pluton, a warship with the capability to wipe out entire islands at a time. CP-9 spent five years searching for these blueprints to no avail.

Special Abilities

Since Lucci has been training ever since he was a child, Lucci is extremely skilled in both assassination and physical combat. Lucci is one of the few members of the Marines that can use all six Rokushiki techniques, which gives him an even greater advantage in battle. Furthermore, Lucci has the powers of the Cat-Cat Fruit: Model Leopard. This particular Devil Fruit allows Lucci to transform into a leopard. Although Lucci can shift completely into a leopard, he often uses his hybrid form, which further enhances his physical abilities.

Other Important One Piece Characters

Two characters that are closely related to Lucci are Robin and Franky. Here is some more details about each character below.

Nico Robin

Nico Robin is an archaeologist and a member of the Straw Hat Pirates. As one of the only people able to read Poneglyphs, she has been wanted by the World Government for years but managed to evade them for most of her life. During the Water 7 Saga, Robin gave herself to the military in exchange for the safety of Luffy and his crew. Despite her attempt to sacrifice herself, the Straw Hats refuse to let her go, causing Lucci and the rest of CP-9 to attack the crew.

Franky

Franky is the Straw Hat Pirates’ shipwright, but used to be the leader of the Franky Family, a group of ship scavengers and bounty hunters. Before the formation of the Franky Family, however, Franky was known as Cutty Flam, one of the apprentices of the legendary shipwright, Tom. Unknown to all but Franky and Tom’s other apprentice, Iceburg, Franky has been in possession of the blueprints for the Pluton. After being captured by CP-9, Franky took out the plans for Pluton and burned them in front of his enemies.
