OtapediaTriss Merigold The Witcher 3 - Figures

The Witcher is a hit fantasy series that began with 1994’s Blood for the Elves by Polish writer Andrzej Sapowski. Witchers are chemically and magically enhanced humans that fight monsters and supernatural beings. The story follows the tale of Geralt of Rivia, perhaps the most famous Witcher in the land. His stories are wild and exciting including fights, romance, magic, and more. After finding moderate success with the book series, a video game series was made and after that, and again popularity increased. CD Projekt Red took the Witcher series to new levels of fame with their 2015 game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. An open-world adventure role-playing game that offers the player incredible levels of freedom, and choices that influence the fate of various characters and the outcome of the game itself. The Witcher is famous for its deep character development and an assorted cast of characters. One such character is the infamous sorceress Triss Merigold. Two figures that show her splendor are “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Triss Merigold Series 2 Figure” by Dark Horse Comics, and Good Smile Company’s “Nendoroid The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Triss Merigold”.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Triss Merigold Series 2 Figure

Triss has two costumes in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; this is the free DLC version. Potentially elven in nature, the blue and white dress shows intricate hemming and embellishments. Gold trim and patterns throughout give a magical appearance; quite fitting for a founding member of the lodge of sorceresses. The crafting and sculpting of this figure are truly second to none. The proportions of Triss’ body are perfect (yes, everywhere). The painting includes makeup on the face, adding a touch of reality while the shading and contouring gives a deeper 3d pop overall.

Nendoroid The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Triss Merigold Figure

Triss Merigold is a legendary sorceress. She is extremely powerful and has a propensity for pyromancy—strong fire magic. Nendoroid’s Triss Merigold features her standard Witcher 3: Wild Hunt costume. A blue and orange tunic, tied with a blue belt over black pants and boots. The only difference from the costume in the game is a hood. Triss can often be seen with her hood up as to avoid arousing suspicion as she is constantly on the run from witch hunters. With this 10cm tall articulated figure comes a book, fire effects, and a gwent card to make for a variety of poses.

About Triss Merigold

Triss is a main support character that appears heavily in the Witcher series. She is a founding member of the lodge of sorceresses and has had interactions with both Yennefer, Geralt, and Ciri. She is something of an outlaw during the events of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Background

As a user of powerful magic, Triss is an invaluable ally. She helped take care of Ciri at Karn Moehen when her magical abilities got too strong for the teachers themselves to handle. She also suggested calling Yennefer to help out with the young Ciri too when even her own powers weren’t enough.

Special Abilities

Tris is exceptionally gifted in the art of pyromancy. She is also well versed in other elements of magic and her first foray into the arcane world was with magic potions (to which she herself, ironically, has an allergy).

Other Important The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Characters

As an influential and famed sorceress, Triss has connections far and wide. She is mainly responsible for the resistance against witch hunters in the city of Novigrad. During her time spent at Kaer Morhen with Geralt, she also became rather close with a number of other Witchers, including Eskel and Vesemir. There are two characters in the series however who are of great importance to Triss, Geralt, and Ciri.

Geralt

Triss actually mind-controlled Geralt with magic and seduced him after he suffered memory loss. She convinced him that she was in fact the sorceress that he was deeply in love with. The two had a fairly long lasting affair until Geralt’s memory began to recover. Parting on relatively amicable terms the two would later meet again in Novigrad during King Radovid’s witch purge.

Ciri

When Ciri was brought to Kaern Morhen for witcher training, she was still a child and unaware of the elder blood she carries. Over time, as she got older she began having issues with her powers emerging; witchers have no experience in this field and so Triss was called to help Ciri manage. The two got along well (Triss was so taken by young Ciri that she took to calling her ‘little sister’) and Triss did her best to accommodate and support Ciri’s new found powers, but ultimately ended up calling the more experienced Yennefer to help.
