Giyuu Tomioka Demon Slayer - Nendoroid

The super-popular series Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) first released its anime on the 6th of April, 2019 gaining massive popularity with a movie being released as well. There are many powerful characters appearing in the series as the demon slayer corps has to fight off demons that roam around at night. Ranked 4th on the Demon Slayer popularity poll is Giyuu Tomioka. He is a popular character and is the senpai of Tanjiro Kamado, the protagonist of the series, as they were both taught by the same master. Giyuu is a popular character due to his strength as well as cool and aloof personality. He is quite a powerful character and is seen easily defeating a strong demon that Tanjiro had difficulty fighting. Since Giyuu is a very popular character there have been a large number of products made with his design. One of the popular products to be released is the Giyuu Nendoroid called the “Nendoroid Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Giyu Tomioka (Re-run)”. This Giyuu Nendoroid allows the fans to enjoy a small and cute version of the usually distant character.

Nendoroid Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Giyu Tomioka (Re-run)

The Giyuu Nendoroid shows him wearing the demon slayer corps uniform of a black top and matching pants. Over his uniform is his signature haori which has two different designs. On one side is a dark red color which is the color of the kimono his older sister used to wear. On the other side is a green, yellow, and orange colored geometrical pattern which is the pattern that Sabito used to wear for his kimono. His long spikey black hair has been tied in a ponytail at the back of his head and his fringe has been sculpted to frame his face beautifully. Attached to his belt is his nichirin katana with a white grip and red guard. The nichirin blade can be sheathed and unsheathed with an optional special effect that can be attached to the blade to show off one of his water breathing techniques. There is also another optional effect to recreate the water breathing 11th form: dead calm technique that appears to be a calm pool of water. The Giyuu Nendoroid also comes with his Kasugai crow, his black messenger crow can also be placed on a stand to make it appear to be flying in mid-air. There are also three different face plates to enjoy all sorts of situations. The first one shows Giyuu with his usual expression of a calm stare. His angled sharp eyes stare straight and have been colored beautifully with dark and light tones of blues. The second expression shows Giyuu acting very angry. His eyes are wide open and pupils are focused as his eyebrows are deeply furrowed with wrinkles showing. His mouth is also wide open with his teeth showing making it seem like he is shouting. The last expression shows Giyuu taken off guard or surprised. His eyes are blank and white and his eyebrows are furrowed as though he couldn't believe what just happened.

About Giyuu Tomioka

Giyuu is a quiet and composed person and doesn’t seem to care about anything but in reality, he does care about what others think of him. Giyuu’s standoffish behavior often causes misunderstandings with the other members of the demon slayer corps but it is only due to his guilt. Despite being a pillar, one of the strongest in the corps, Giyuu believes he does not deserve the title and that he isn’t as strong or useful.

About Giyuu Tomioka: Background

When Giyuu was young his older sister protected him from demons causing her death. Giyuu felt incredibly guilty for doing nothing and only watching her die and keeps half of her red kimono as his haori. The other half of his haori is from Sabito who protected him during the final selection. Since he has been protected by many people causing their deaths Giyuu does not feel qualified even though his strength is the real deal.

About Giyuu Tomioka: Abilities

Giyuu has completed the training set by Sakonji Urokodaki, a master of the water breathing technique, and had gained permission to enter the final selecting to become a demon slayer. Giyuu passed and worked his way up in the ranks to become a pillar, one of the nine most powerful members in the demon slayer corps. He has mastered the water breathing technique and even made another new water breathing form.

Other Important Demon Slayer Characters

Giyuu is not a very sociable character but cares for others in his own way. He cares greatly and trusts Tanjiro which can be seen when he entrusts his life on the bond Tanjiro shares with Nezuko. Giyuu also cares greatly for Sabito, one of his fellow water breathing technique users which can be seen by the pattern of the haori he wears.

Tanjiro Kamado

Giyuu trusts Tanjiro Kamado and is quite proud to see him on a mission and to see how far he has grown from when they first met. Despite being a high-ranked member of the demon slayer corps and understanding how dangerous demons are, he decided to believe in Tanjiro when he says his sister isn’t dangerous and wouldn’t hurt humans.

Sabito

Sabito saved Giyuu when he was still inexperienced and he feels gratitude and lots of guilt over that fact. He has continued to wear part of Sabito’s patterned haori to never forget his weakness making him believe he is still weak.
