Kaoru expresses herself extravagantly, playing a princely role among her classmates even off stage. Kaoru likes to show off her intelligence and refined taste, though usually these are faked or exaggerated. She often misquotes Shakespeare or poetry and claims to like fancy sounding food she's never tried. Kaoru cultivated her fans not only because of her flirting, but due to her genuinely reliable and caring nature.

Despite her arrogant facade, Kaoru has a history of self-esteem issues. Her past shyness and feelings of inferiority led her to create her prince persona. With this new role, she hoped to keep other girls from feeling as small as she did. The only person who knows about her past is her childhood friend, Chisato Shirasagi.

About Kaoru Seta: Abilities

Like most of the Hello, Happy World! members, Kaoru had no experience with guitar before joining the band. Instead, the band founder Kokoro recruited her to be the most visible member, the guitarist. Given her dedication as an actress and reliability, Kaoru took on the role seriously. Notably, Kaoru is the only guitarist in BanG Dream! that plays semi-hollow and hollow body guitars.

Kaoru's greatest asset to the band is her reliability and her acting ability. Her stage presence helps boost the positivity the band wishes to spread. Kaoru's popularity also provides the band with a built-in audience and fanbase.

Chisato Shirasagi is a student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School. She is also the bassist in Pastel*Palettes. Chisato is a generally polite and mature person. However, she has a tendency to be blunt and can come off as condescending. As a child actress, Chisato developed a cynical opinion of the entertainment industry.

Kaoru and Chisato became friends in elementary school through their parents' friendship. Chisato became the subject of bullying after playing a mean girl on tv. Kaoru tried to defend Chisato but lacked the confidence to stand up to her classmates. They ended up attending different high school but started to heal their estranged relationship through their bands.

Kokoro Tsurumaki

Kokoro Tsurumaki is a student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School. She is the leader, vocalist, and founder of Hello, Happy World! Kokoro grew up in a very wealthy family and has a curious, idealistic worldview. Her bubbly personality and natural charisma make her an effective leader with a knack for getting what she wants. Kokoro is also comically scatter-brained and easily sweeps others into her nonsensical train of thought.

Kokoro formed Hello, Happy World! out of a desire to spread positivity through music. She recruited each member directly, asking Kaoru to join due to her handsome face and popularity. Despite her charisma as a leader, Kokoro often lacks follow-through due to her hyper, easily-distracted nature.

Hello, Happy World!

Hello, Happy World! is one of the original five bands from the BanG Dream! universe. In the story, Kokoro scouted members and formed the group to fulfill her dream of making people happy through music. As a result, the band has the most diverse, eclectic member lineup in the franchise. Their message of positivity and desire to appeal to anyone makes them popular with a wide range of ages. They frequently perform at preschools and children's hospitals to spread the most joy. The majority of their costumes follow a marching band motif.

In real life, Hello, Happy World! has released 18 songs and seven singles as of January 2022. They released their debut album, niconiconnect, in July 2021. Notably, Hello, Happy World! is the only band in BanG Dream! to perform songs from multiple genres.
