With handsome looks, able to obtain any skill he wants but combined with his rebellious nature, he is the character that you somehow end up rooting for. Banri Settsu is a delinquent yet very talented actor and is the leader of the Autumn Troupe.
About Banri Settsu: Background
For Banri learning new skills comes easily and is able to do most things from the start. However, this tends to leave him bored and lacking in passion. Due to being able to do most things on the first try, he also looks down on the others who are unable to perform to his level and comes off as arrogant. Despite his seemingly arrogant attitude, we do see that when he forms a friendship with others he does care about them in his own way, but does struggle to vocally express himself.
Banri, due to his lack of passion and boredom, becomes a delinquent during high school. He would often get into fights against those strong to test his strength. He one day hears of Hyodo Juza who he ends up losing against. This newfound feeling of defeat in return gives him the passion to get his revenge on Hyodo. When he hears that Juza is auditioning for the Autumn Troupe, he sees this as an opportunity to beat Juza at something else. Despite not having done or having any interest Banri shows talent in acting. This leads to Izumi allowing him to join the Mankai Company. However, as time passes, we do see him growing to like acting and having a passion for it and actively makes the effort to become a better actor.
About Banri Settsu: Abilities
Banri is able to handle all things with ease. From academics, sports and acting he is able to complete all of these with ease. Up until the fight with Juza, he had never been defeated at anything. Despite no interest, he once again proves his natural talent and proves to be an amazing actor at the Autumn Troupe audition.
Within the A3! mobile game, he is shown to have multiple Link Skills, which helps to boost the overall team points. For comedy plays when with Tenma Sumeragi they are known as the “Shopping Buddies” and lead to a 12% bonus. Banri is a part of the Autumn Troupe which can receive a 60% bonus with action plays. For serious plays, the highest bonus occurs when with the “Hanasaki Academy Group” consisting of Sakuya Sakuma and Masumi Usui and leads to a 24% bonus.
Other Important A3! Characters
Within the game, Banri is seen interacting with various characters and holding differing relationships with them. In particular, we see he has a strong relationship with Hyodo Juza, Itaru Chisaki, and Taichi Nanao.
Juza Hyodo
Banri and Juza Hyodo are often seen to be bickering and often placed as rivals. The two first meet before auditioning where Juza defeats Banri in a fight. This defeat fuels Banri’s passion and to gain revenge on Juza, it leads to him auditioning for the Autumn Troupe, which he is accepted into. The two also have many similarities with both being delinquents and are often misunderstood. While the two have a rivalry, they also have mutual respect for each other after the Autumn Troupe’s first play. The two also share room 104 together.
Itaru Chisaki
Itaru Chigasaki is a member of the Spring Troupe and is good friends with Banri. The two of them are gamers and often play together. Itaru plays under the name “Taruchi” while Banri plays under the name “NEO.” Both are very talented at gaming and see each other as rivals within gaming. They often fight each other in-game rankings but are also seen to play games as a party as well.
Taichi Nanao
Taichi Nanao is also a part of the Autumn Troupe and joins to help boost his popularity. He has a puppy-like personality, is very sociable, and overall has a very positive attitude. In particular, he looks up to Juza and Banri. He looks up to Juza for his good reputation and looks up to Banri for his talent and ability to do most things to perfection. He is often seen making efforts to be noticed by them.
