Nendoroid Fullmetal Alchemist Envy

The cruelest homunculus has earned the cutest form of immortality in this figure from the Nendoroid line. About Envy

Envy is a supporting antagonist from the series Fullmetal Alchemist. In all renditions of the story, Envy is a homunculus embodying the sin of jealousy. Of all the homunculi in the series, Envy possesses the greatest hatred for humans. They take the appearance of an androgynous teenager.

About Envy: Background

As the embodiment of envy, Envy is a covetous and bitter creature bearing great resentment. Though homunculi by nature have no sex or gender, Envy often uses male pronouns and speech patterns. In the first anime adaptation, Envy is biologically male. Envy is the second cruelest homunculus, revelling in human suffering and killing at will. They are incredibly sensitive to criticism or any perceived slight. As a result, their hatred toward humanity bears a deeper emotional weight than that of their siblings.

About Envy: Abilities

Like all homunculi, Envy possesses enhanced physical endurance, strength, and resilience compared to humans. They can also regenerate after any limb loss and almost all injuries. Envy's special ability amongst the homunculi is their ability to shapeshift. They can take the form of any human or animal. They can also partially transform their body, taking on certain limbs or physical characteristics. The extent and speed of this transformation make Envy exceptionally adept in stealth. Their additional abilities largely vary between versions.

In the manga and 2009 anime, Envy has a true monstrous form similar to their dragon form in the 2003 continuity. Their disguised, preferred form still possesses the strength and weight of his true form.

Other Important Fullmetal Alchemist Characters

In addition to Envy, Fullmetal Alchemist has an abundance of popular characters.

Lust

Lust is one of Envy's homunculus siblings embodying the sins of lust and desire. She takes the form of an attractive and seductive woman. Her special ability among her siblings is her "ultimate spear" ability. She can extend and sharpen her fingertips to function like rapiers.

In all storylines, Lust works closely with Gluttony and Envy, particularly during their mission in Liore. Her strategic role is to gather intel and manipulate humans by seducing them. She and Envy cooperate but tend to bicker due to the differences in their methodology. Surprisingly, she has a close relationship with Gluttony that takes on an almost maternal role in the manga.

Gluttony

Gluttony is a homunculus embodying the sin of gluttony and overindulgence. Compared to the other homunculi, Gluttony is surprisingly docile and dependent. When not lost in a frenzy, he often asks for permission before devouring someone or something. He works closely with Envy and Lust. His main role is to devour anyone posing a threat to the mission and erase any evidence of his siblings' presence.

Unlike Envy and most of the homunculi, Gluttony doesn't seem to harbor any real hatred for humans. Instead, his motives and behaviors are more childlike and impulsive. As a result, Gluttony often worked under the command of another homunculus. He usually worked amicably with Lust and then served under Envy's crueler treatment after her death.

Father

Father is the main antagonist of the manga and 2009 anime. In this storyline, he is an enigmatic and powerful enemy who created the homunculi. Father created the homunculi directly or indirectly to serve his greater pursuit of ultimate power. Each homunculi embodies a vice derived from Father's consciousness. Father's true identity and his ultimate plan remain mysteries throughout most of the story. Father expects complete loyalty and blind obedience from all of his "children," the homunculi.
