Keiji Akaashi Haikyu!! - Nendoroid

For nearly a decade, sports manga Haikyu!! reigned as one of the most popular series in Shonen Jump. One of the standout popular characters from the massive cast is Fukurodani's second year setter, Keiji Akaashi. Together with Bokuto, Akaashi forms an endearing duo with both comedy and heartfelt friendship. Akaashi gets the chance to enjoy his solo popularity in his chibi figure, "Nendoroid Haikyu!! Fukurodani's calm and collected setter shines in chibi form in this Nendoroid figure. Akaashi wears his standard black and white uniform with gold accents. About Keiji Akaashi

Keiji Akaashi is a second year at Fukurodani Academy and the official setter of the volleyball team. He is also the team's vice-captain, usually serving as the voice of reason alongside the captain, Kotaro Bokuto.

About Keiji Akaashi: Background

Akaashi is level-headed and poised. He rarely shows his emotions, opting to remain as logical as possible. While usually polite, Akaashi calls out people for their foolish actions or annoying behavior. Akaashi also has a tendency to overthink, especially when trying to account for others' mood swings.

Akaashi played volleyball in middle school, but remained largely indifferent toward the sport. After meeting Bokuto, he admired the spiker's passion for the sport and decided to dedicate himself more to volleyball. Since becoming Fukurodani's official setter, the team has regularly attended nationals. Akaashi's ability to showcase Bokuto's skills also made the latter one of the top five aces in the country.

About Keiji Akaashi: Abilities

Overall, Akaashi is a solidly skilled setter with the ability to set up a variety of attacks with ease. While seemingly overshadowed by Bokuto's raw strength, Akaashi reveals his high accuracy and precision with all of Fukurodani's spikers. Akaashi can also successfully recover sloppy or risky passes, often turning dire situations into scoring opportunities.

As a setter, Akaashi is also skilled in playmaking. His analytical and observation skills allow him to make split decisions. Akaashi is also aware of his shortcomings and calmly makes adjustments to his plays when necessary. He shows off this ability through toss rebounds and cutting off Bokuto when the latter gets too emotional. Like the rest of Fukurodani, Akaashi can also execute a jump serve.

Akaashi's most significant relationships lie within the powerhouse teams in Tokyo. He spends most of his time on and off the court with Kotaro Bokuto. Given Fukurodani's rivalry with Nekoma High School, Akaashi also often goes head-to-head with Kenma Kozume.

Kotaro Bokuto

Kotaro Bokuto is a third year at Fukurodani Academy and the volleyball team's captain and ace. Bokuto is loud and passionate, particularly about volleyball. He is also prone to drastic mood swings which affect his ability on the court. Despite his moods, Bokuto is a very talented player and ranks in the top five high school aces in Japan.

Bokuto is the one who inspired Akaashi to pursue volleyball more seriously in high school. Though he hasn't vocalized it, Akaashi believes Bokuto is the ideal ace and a natural star. In their usual interactions, Akaashi acts as the straight man to Bokuto's comedic antics. Akaashi also has a memorized list of all of Bokuto's weaknesses and countermeasures for these weaknesses.

Kenma Kozume

Kenma Kozume is a second year student at Nekoma High school and the volleyball team's official setter. Kenma is quiet and non-athletic, making him an unassuming player on a skilled team. However, he uses his sharp observation skills to anticipate opponents' moves and develop counter-strategies. He considers volleyball just something that he does and usually prefers video games.

Akaashi and Kenma rarely interact outside of games. However, their similar analytical style sparks a rivalry between the two during the Tokyo quarterfinals. Kenma's sharp observations of Bokuto's condition worries Akaashi, causing him to overthink and burn out. However, Akaashi then pinpoints Nekoma's own weak link, pushed to outsmart Kenma and bring Bokuto back into action.
