About Sakura Kinomoto
Sakura Kinomoto begins the series as an energetic fourth-grader at Tomoeda Elementary School. After accidentally releasing a set of enchanted cards, she becomes the world's one and only Cardcaptor.
About Sakura Kinomoto: Background
Sakura lives in the town of Tomoeda with her archeology professor father and older brother, Touya. She states that her best traits are her athleticism and positive attitude. After becoming a Cardcaptor, Sakura puts her determination to the test to grow her magical abilities and save the town from the cards' destruction. Sakura enjoys her time as a normal girl, whether shopping with friends or going on family picnics. Her ability to reach others' hearts and make friends saves her numerous times on her magical journey.
About Sakura Kinomoto: Abilities
At the beginning of the series, Sakura possesses dormant magical powers strong enough to release the Clow Cards. As she collects the cards, Sakura's own powers grow as she taps into the magic already imbued in the cards. Her powers grow strong enough to coin her own invincible spell. Outside of magic, Sakura is a talented athlete and gymnast. Before strengthening her magic, Sakura relied on her athletic skill and luck to capture Clow Cards.

One of the strongest elements of the Cardcaptor Sakura storyline is the relationships between the main cast. For Sakura, her two biggest supporters are her best friend, Tomoyo Daidouji, and companion, Kero-chan.
Tomoyo Daidouji
Tomoyo Daidouji is Sakura's classmate and best friend. She comes from a wealthy family, as her mother is the CEO of a major toymaker company. As a result, Tomoyo often supplies Sakura with company prototypes to communicate about collecting cards. Tomoyo's favorite hobby is filmmaking, particularly filming Sakura's card capturing adventures. She even provides Sakura with a variety of costumes for filming, completing her image as a magical girl.
Kero-chan
Cerberus, or as he's known to Sakura and Tomoyo, Kero-chan, is the guardian of the Clow Cards. In his true form, Kero-chan is a tawny, maneless lion with large, angelic wings wearing metal armor. However, he spends most of his time in his false form, which resembles a lion cub plush toy. Kero-chan is loud, bossy, and gluttonous. He spends most of his time snacking and gaming in the Kinomoto house while the family is at work and school. However, he takes his duty as a guardian seriously and firmly believes Sakura is a suitable master for the Clow Cards.
