Marnie Pokemon - Nendoroid
Even after over two decades, Pokemon remains a cultural powerhouse and wildly successful media franchise. At its core, the console games remain the heart of the series. After eight rounds of main entries, the series still delivers unique and memorable characters to endear older fans and entice new ones. One of these more popular characters is one of the player's rivals from the eighth generation main games, Marnie. With her stoic, strong personality and eye-catching design, fans understand her intense fanbase as shown in the games. Her popularity has even earned Marnie representation among official Pokemon figures, including the limited Nendoroid line with her figure, "Nendoroid Marnie."
Nendoroid Marnie
Good Smile Company brings the quiet, yet strong rival from Pokemon Sword and Shield to the Nendoroid line. In chibi form, Marnie wears her default outfit from the game's main storyline. The silver accents have been finished with a polished and sharp appearance. Her unique, edgy twin-tail hairstyle retains its distinct design with alternating colors for shaved sections and the horn-like tufts on top. Despite her stoic nature, the figure does include three different face plates. These expressions allow fans to display Marnie with her neutral stare, eyes closed in focus, or attempting a shy smile. Additional accessories include her main partner, Morpeko, and her choice of Pokeball: a dusk ball.

About Marnie
Marnie is one of the rival NPCs featured in Pokemon Sword and Shield. She primarily uses dark-type Pokemon and dresses in punk fashion. Her image and aloof personality have made her a fan-favorite character from the eighth-generation main series games.
About Marnie: Background
Marnie enters the Galar Gym Challenge along with the player. She first meets the player after an encounter with her rambunctious fans, Team Yell. Impressed by the player's skill, she becomes a friendly rival, occasionally challenging the player throughout the games. Notably, Marnie helps the player gain access to the Spikemuth Gym after Team Yell blocks the entrance. After losing the Gym Challenge, Marnie becomes the Spikemuth Gym Leader.
According to her league card, Marnie used to be a crybaby when she was younger. She grew out of her shyness and became happier due to her relationship with Pokemon. Her first partner was her Morpeko, given to her by her brother, Piers. Marnie has a deep love of her hometown and joined the gym challenge in part as an effort to revitalize it. Despite her reserved and calm appearance, Marnie can be pushed to anger and stays angry for a long time.
About Marnie: Abilities
As a rival character, Marnie's skills evolve along with the difficulty level of the game. She starts off with relatively low-level, unevolved Pokemon. Her team is primarily dark, but she has some counters in moveset and typing against the type's main weaknesses, fighting, and fairy. By the second battle against the player, her team has grown considerably with three fully evolved Pokemon. Her most advanced team in the main game shows up in her tournament battle against the player. She has five Pokemon, four fully evolved, with type coverage and status inflicting moves. Players can challenge Marnie to a rematch with a more difficult team in the postgame.
Other Important Pokemon Characters
Marnie has a significant role in Pokemon Sword and Shield, particularly related to the player character and other rivals. However, her other relationships contribute to larger worldbuilding and storytelling in the games as well.
Marnie's Morpeko
Marnie's Morpeko is her main Pokemon and is shown as her partner in other Pokemon media. Morpeko is a dual electric and dark type Pokemon. Its signature ability, Hunger Switch, causes it to change forms after each turn in battle. The form switch affects the typing of Morpeko's signature move, Aura Wheel. It is an electric-type attack in Full Belly Mode and a dark-type attack in Hangry Mode.
Marnie's Morpeko was a gift from her brother when she was little. It appears on all of her teams in-game, initially serving as her signature Pokemon before being replaced by Grimmsnarl.
Piers
Piers is Marnie's older brother and the original Spikemuth Gym Leader. He specializes in dark-type Pokemon and notably does not Dynamax his Pokemon in battle. Spikemuth lacks a power spot necessary to Dynamax, and Piers insists on proving his strength without it. Despite his role as a gym leader, Piers believes he is a relatively weak trainer and wants to focus on his music instead.
Piers gave Marnie her first Pokemon and wants her to take over his position as Gym Leader. While she initially refuses, Marnie eventually takes his place.
Team Yell
Team Yell is the nominal villainous team in Pokemon Sword and Shield. They are diehard Marnie fans who travel around Galar trying to prevent other challenger's from making progress. Similar to Team Skull, Team Yell is less involved with the larger antagonist plot and serves mainly as a roadblock and annoyance to the player. However, they are notably the first villainous team in the series with no "evil" plans or intentions.
Marnie tries to stop Team Yell from obstructing other challengers when she can, preferring to win fairly on her own.
