Reimu Hakurei Touhou Project - Nendoroid
Since the release of the first two games in 1997, the Touhou Project has become a massive community-driven franchise. Due to its wide array of fan-made music, games, and manga in addition to its official releases, it is hard to beat the Touhou Project in terms of content. As such, manufacturers like Good Smile Company and their Nendoroid series have picked up several different characters from the franchise and turned them into small, chibi-style figures. One such character is one of the main protagonists of the Touhou Project, the shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei. Since she is one of the most recurring characters in the franchise, it should be no surprise that she has had multiple releases throughout the years. These releases include the "Nendoroid Reimu Hakurei | Touhou Project", the "Nendoroid Touhou Project Reimu Hakurei 2.0 (Re-run)", and the "Nendoroid Swacchao! Touhou Project Reimu Hakurei".
Nendoroid Reimu Hakurei | Touhou Project
This figure of Reimu comes from the first one hundred Nendoroids ever released and features her wearing her standard shrine maiden-inspired outfit. This outfit consists of a red skirt, a red top with a white collar, a yellow ribbon, detached white sleeves, and her iconic large red ribbon tied in her hair. In addition to her classic outfit, this figure set also comes with several accessories that she can hold, like a Shinto prayer rod, talismans, and a Japanese teacup. It also includes a second face plate with a relaxed expression to add even more options when it comes to posing.

Nendoroid Touhou Project Reimu Hakurei 2.0 (Re-run)

These details are especially noticeable in Reimu's hair and the frills on her dress and the ribbon in her hair, which have much finer folds compared to the first version of the Reimu Nendoroid. While this updated figure still includes a Shinto prayer rod and talismans, it also has a Japanese paper umbrella, a donation box, a talisman attack effect, and a third face plate with a more serious expression.

About Reimu Hakurei
Reimu Hakurei is a major character from the Touhou Project and acts as the main playable character for many of the official games.
About Reimu Hakurei: Background
Reimu Hakurei is the sole shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine, a key location in the Touhou Project that is known for keeping Gensokyo sealed away from the Outside World. As the Hakurei shrine maiden, Reimu is tasked with defeating yokai and other threats that attempt to disrupt the peace. That said, Reimu is also very true to her desires, often resulting in her struggles to find a balance between her shrine maiden duties and what she wants to do. Furthermore, Reimu is generally friendly and jovial until her daily routine is disturbed by something, such as an attack by a yokai.
About Reimu Hakurei: Abilities
Because of her status as the Hakurei shrine maiden, Reimu has access to use the Hakurei Yin-Yang Orb, which she has used as her main weapon since the first Touhou Project game, Highly Responsive to Prayers. This object is said to be full of spiritual energy and one of the only ways Reimu could use to damage yokai enemies in the earlier entries of the series. In addition, Reimu's ability to float and fly exceeds most other characters in the Touhou Project. That said, some say that Reimu's maneuverability is due more to sheer luck than skill.
Other Important Touhou Project Characters
While there are many different characters from the Touhou Project, two of the most popular include Marisa Kirisame and Cirno.
Marisa Kirisame
Marisa Kirisame is an outgoing young woman with a tomboyish personality. Unlike most of the inhabitants in Gensokyo, Marisa is an ordinary human who has studied magic on her own. Through her hard work, she has become one of the most powerful human magicians. She can often be seen riding around Gensokyo on her broom or spending time with Reimu at the Hakurei Shrine.
Cirno
Cirno is an ice fairy with a naive personality who often believes that she is stronger than everyone else. Most of her attacks take the form of ice that she freezes herself, then launches at an opponent. That said, her attacks can be overcome fairly easily with enough speed or attack power. One of her favorite pastimes is freezing frogs and watching them come back to life as the ice thaws, though these attempts often end up failing.
