Rimuru was originally a human named Satoru who was an everyday salaryman. He was a kind man who helped his subordinates when they asked for advice. One day he was suddenly stabbed after protecting his subordinate and ended up dying. Satoru ended his life as a human but was then reincarnated as a slime in a fantasy world.
Even though he was born as a completely different species Rimuru was able to keep his cool and continue with his life. He is a very relaxed character who has a hard time declining someone's request for help. Although he doesn’t like troublesome situations he often gets dragged into all sorts of conflicts.
Rimuru always has a kind and cheery demeanor however it can change when his close ones are hurt. When he learned of the injuries his friends had he immediately went cold. He changed in an instant and threw away his hesitation about killing humans. For his loved ones, he didn’t care about the outcome of his actions and wished for them to come back to life.

The main skill he constantly uses is an ability called the Great Sage which is then upgraded to the ultimate skill Raphael. It is a skill Rimuru can talk to and ask favors for. The skill automatically reports and analyses his opponents for him. While the skill Raphael works on a task Rimuru can still think and plan other things.
