NieR: Automata is an action-RPG game that was developed by PlatinumGames and directed by the renowned creator, Yoko Taro. It acts as a loose sequel to Yoko Taro's 2010 game, NieR, and mainly follows the YoRHa androids 2B and 9S in a desolated, yet a futuristic world in the middle of the 14th Machine War. Like many other games developed by PlatinumGames, NieR: Automata was praised for its intricate combo-based battle system as well as its unique branching storyline. Due to the success of the game, manufacturers were quick to design a wide range of merchandise based on NieR: Automata and its characters. One such manufacturer includes Good Smile Company, which is well known among fans in the otaku community for its Nendoroid line of figures. Due to her appealing design and role as the main protagonist of the game, Good Smile Company would eventually release the "Nendoroid NieR: Automata 2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B) figure, which would go on to be one of the most popular Nendoroid out of the NieR: Automata characters.

This figure of 2B takes her classic design and gives it the cute, chibi-style twist that the Nendoroid line is known for. That said, it still accurately recreates her original look rather accurately and includes intricate details. Her sleek, black dress, black military visor, and the beauty mark under her lip are all perfectly recreated here, making it a wonderful, yet adorable addition to one's collection. In addition, this Nendoroid is also articulated and includes many different accessories to allow for an impressive amount of customization for its size. Such extra parts include two sets of arms and legs, 2B's Virtuous Contract and Virtuous Treaty, two different attack effect parts, her Pod 042, and a Black Box.

About YoRHa No.2 Type B (2B)
2B is a YoRHa Android and acts as the main protagonist of one of the routes of NieR: Automata. She often appears alongside 9S in their battles against the Machines.
About YoRHa No.2 Type B (2B): Background
2B is a Battle-type Android created by YoRHa to fight against the Machines, which have invaded Earth to take over the planet and destroy humanity. Possibly due to her nature as a Battle-type Android, 2B is exceedingly obedient to her superiors and is not much for conversations or formalities. That said, as she continues traveling with the comparatively outgoing and curious 9S, she learns to become more social and expressive. Although she is notably cold to her enemies and strangers, 2B is notably kind and caring toward her allies and will go out of her way to help them.
About YoRHa No.2 Type B (2B): Abilities
As an Android designed specifically for combat, 2B can wield a variety of weapons and attacks, as well as dodge and counter incoming attacks from enemies. Her preferred weapon is a white and black katana-like sword named Virtuous Contract. Throughout the game, she can also wield a larger sword, a spear, and a pair of gauntlets to fit an even wider range of playstyles. 2B is also often aided by her Pod 042, which assists her by allowing her to fire projectiles for ranged attacks. 2B also has a self-destruct feature, which causes a great deal of damage to both 2B and her surrounding enemies. After self-destructing, 2B is left with 1 HP and cannot use any of her other functions for a short period of time.

YoRHa No.9 Type S (9S)
YoRHa No. 9 Type S, also known as 9S, is a male Scanner-type Android who is assigned to work together with 2B toward the beginning of NieR: Automata. Due to his nature as a Scanner-type Android, 9S is exceedingly curious about the world around him, though he is particularly curious about the Machines, despite being their enemy. Although most Androids do not express much emotion, 9S is certainly an exception, as he is often shown being quite cheerful, eager, and playful, even with his superiors like Operator 210. His primary skill revolves around hacking enemy Machines, which allows him to make them self-destruct or take direct control of them.
YoRHa Type A No.2 (A2)
A2 was originally an Attacker-type YoRHa Android and acted as a prototype that preceded the Scanner and Battle-type Androids that followed. During one of the first missions of the 14th Machine War, A2 and several other prototype Androids were sent to attack the Machines. After the attack, however, A2 was the only survivor and she was branded as a traitor by YoRHa. As such, A2 was left to survive on Earth by herself as her inherent hatred toward Machines and the pain of being renounced by her creators causes her a great deal of inner turmoil.
