Neji Hyuga Naruto - Nendoroid

The series known as Naruto is a very large franchise with various products being released such as figures and Nendoroids. The manga was written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto and is known as one of the big three. When the anime first aired on the 3rd of October 2002 it gained massive popularity and attention. As the story is about ninjas being able to fight with extraordinary abilities, the animation brought the story to life. One of the characters to appear is Neji Hyuga, a shinobi of the noble Hyuga clan. He is a popular character thanks to his strength and elegant appearance. Due to his popularity, many products have been made in his design. One popular product includes the "Nendoroid Naruto Shippuden Neji Hyuga".

Nendoroid Naruto Shippuden Neji Hyuga

From the Nendoroid line is the calm and cool Neji Hyuga. He wears his usual shinobi outfit seen in Shippuden when he is much older, the outfit consists of a white top and bottom with a gray covering. His hair is long and tied near the bottom of his hair in a loose ponytail.

Neji comes with three different faceplates which are a serious face, a slightly smiling face, and a focused face where he activates his byakugan. His eyes have been painted faithfully to recreate the signature byakugan which looks like pupil-less eyes. There are also various optional features such as his palm attacks to show the Hyuga clan's signature moves.

About Neji Hyuga

Neji is a shinobi from Konohagakure and is in team Guy with Tenten and Rock Lee. He is a very upright ninja and is called a prodigy.

About Neji Hyuga: Background

Neji was born into the branch house of the Hyuga clan. Although he was shown to be a genius when he was young with great talent he would stay in the branch house. When the heiress of the clan Hinata Hyuga turned 3 years old Neji was branded with the caged bird cursed seal. The seal allowed anyone in the main house to cause pain to anyone with the seal. The seal also destroyed the Byakugan when they died keeping their prized eyes a secret.

During a peace treaty with Kumogakure, one of the delegates attempted to kidnap Hinata. The kidnapping was prevented by Hiashi Hyuga, Hinata’s father who killed the kidnapper without realizing it was the delegate. Kumo denied having tried to kidnap Hinata and instead wanted the body of Hiashi as an apology for killing their shinobi. Hiashi didn’t want a war to break out again and agreed to give up his body but his twin younger brother Hizashi went in his place. As Hizashi had the cursed seal his Byakugan would get destroyed when he died allowing them to keep their secrets.

Hizashi was the father of Neji and had sacrificed himself to allow his child to grow up in a safe environment. Since Neji was still young, he didn’t understand the complicated matters. Instead, he thought the main house had forced his father to die. This thought caused Neji to grow up with a complex against the main house. Neji grew to hate the main family as well as his younger cousin Hinata who he thought was cute and wanted to protect. He believed it was his predestined fate and no matter how hard he tried, everything was already laid out for him.

During the chunin exams, Neji and Naruto Uzumaki are pitted against each other. Neji talks about Naruto’s fate and that it is already determined that Naruto would lose. Since Neji was a prodigy and Naruto was the dead last it was only natural that Neji would win. Instead, Naruto shows him that with hard work people can overcome their flaws and grow as a person. After the fight, Neji learns the truth about the death of his father. He then starts to think that fate is how he wishes it to be and strives to become stronger to protect his friends and family.

About Neji Hyuga: Abilities

Neji was very talented with the Hyuga clan techniques however, he was a member of the branch house and wasn't allowed to learn the clan's advanced techniques. Without being formally taught, Neji learned the advanced techniques by observation. Since Neji is a Hyuga he possessed the Byakugan. It is a very special dojutsu that allows the user to have a 360-degree field of vision as well as see things far away. Even though the dojutsu is known to be all-seeing there is a very small blind spot. Neji makes up for it by emitting chakra into the area to sense as well as continuously spinning to make the blind spot hard to notice.

Neji is a slightly older shinobi compared with the main cast. He allows Naruto to see how much he has grown and with hard work how much more he can grow.

Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki is a hard-working and optimistic character. He believes that effort is rewarded and he trains hard to become stronger and get closer to his goal of becoming Hokage. He doesn’t allow fate to bind him and during his fight with Neji, Naruto shows the effort of his hard work.

Hinata Hyuga

Hinata Hyuga is the cousin of Neji and is from the main branch. At first, Neji wanted to protect her and didn’t think much of the cursed seal but after witnessing the effects on his father he started to question the clan. He grew twisted and aimed his hatred towards Hinata who was the heiress of the clan.
