OtapediaIdentity V - Nendoroid

Identity V is a popular survival horror multiplayer mobile game from developer NetEase. The game boasts an increasingly deep story and distinct art style, as seen in its immense cast of playable characters. Three Identity V characters have found a home in the Nendoroid figure line: "Nendoroid Identity V Gardener," "Nendoroid Identity V Mercenary," and "Nendoroid Identity V Seer."

Nendoroid Identity V Gardener

The survivor and unofficial mascot of the Identity V horror game join the Nendoroid family. Emma Woods, or the Gardener, shows off the distinct art style of the game with her stitching motif on her arms, apron, and jeans. The dejected and devious expression faceplates faithfully recreate her distinct teal button eyes with three-dimensional sculpting. An additional faceplate shows her with a cute smiling expression with a more traditional anime-style design. Accessories include her straw hat, toolbox, and pet cat, Mr. Whiskers.

About Identity V

Identity V is an asymmetrical survival horror multiplayer RPG first released in 2018. The game is available on Windows, iOS macOS, and Android software.

About Identity V: Story and Gameplay

Identity V follows the detective Orpheus as he attempts to unravel a mysterious murder game inside a manor. The game includes several modes, including standard Quick and Rank Matches as well as the gacha style Logic Path. In standard gameplay, a group of five players split into two groups: one hunter and four survivors. The hunter attempts to kill the survivors while the survivors attempt to escape by deciphering five Cipher Machines. If the hunter kills three survivors, the hunter wins, but if three survivors escape, the hunter loses. In the case of two kills and two escapes, the game results in a tie.

About Identity V: Characters

There are two main types of playable characters in the game: hunters and survivors. Survivors include four further subtypes: Assist Types, Contain Types, Decode Types, and Rescue Types. Each survivor subtype includes a set of skills that could aid the group in escape from the manor. Hunter characters also have certain abilities that give them advantages during each match.

Identity V Series Development

Identity V is the first horror game from the Chinese developer NetEase. It first appeared for download on mobile devices in July 2018.

Identity V Series Development: Production

The game started as a mini project for training new developers in NetEase called "Dangerous Game." However, the game gained a lot of traction and popularity. NetEase decided to expand the project and release it as Identity V. Initial development took only six weeks. However, expanding the project into its initial release state required an additional two months of reconfiguring.

Identity V Series Development: Reception

Identity V received largely positive reviews after its release. Reviewers praised the game for its unique visual style and enjoyability for casual players. Initially, the art style was much more gruesome. Over time, the creators spent more time developing the plot and story elements to cater to the largely female audience. Currently, the game has a 3.9 rating on the Google Play Store and a 4.7 on the App Store.
