About Deadpool

Deadpool is a Canadian mercenary who gains superhuman strengths and superhuman regeneration. He is a unique character and often jokes and breaks the fourth wall on many occasions throughout the story.

About Deadpool: Background

Deadpool, also known as Wade Winston Wilson, was initially a member of Team X. When Team X broke up, Wade was captured and experimented on for the Weapon XI project. This leads to Wade becoming a mutant with superhuman abilities, and this is how "Deadpool" was born.

With a highly sarcastic and immature personality, on many occasions, Wade will constantly make jokes, to the point it annoys both his allies and enemies. However, he barely feels any shame and can joke in all situations. While he seems immature, he does have a soft spot and will sacrifice himself to help others. His kind heart results from his father, who did not act as the father he should have. As a result, Wade is very afraid that one day he will turn into his dad and, as a result, makes an effort to be kind to others.

About Deadpool: Abilities

Due to William Stryker's experiments, Wade possesses superhuman abilities, all derived from those in Team X. He can use powers derived from Team X, including Optic Blast, Phase-Jumping, Regenerative Healing Factor Retractable Blades, and Technopathy.

He also has superhuman reflexes and can deflect and dodge bullets with minimal effort. His fast reflexes are especially handy in combat, and he can effortlessly gain the upper hand. Other superhuman abilities include strength, durability, speed, agility, and stamina. His superhuman stamina means he can maintain high performance, and combined with his superhuman agility; he is almost impossible to beat in combat. Most notably, he is immortal. Wade's potent regenerative properties allow him to regenerate no matter the injury. This means he is immune to age, death, and diseases.

Before his mutation, Wade was also a master assassin and master tracker. He has completed all of his contracts and can easily slay his enemies. In addition, due to his background as a mercenary, he is a very efficient information gatherer.

Other Important Deadpool Characters

Deadpool was initially a part of Team X and later held abilities derived from his former teammates. He uses these abilities to combat and overcome the obstacles that he encounters in his story.

Wolverine

Wolverine and Deadpool are former teammates, and both have superhuman regeneration, essentially allowing them to be immortal. The two have a unique relationship and are both enemies and friends. Wolverine and Deadpool have contrasting personalities, with Wolverine being a cynical and dark introvert while Deadpool is talkative and more of an extrovert. Both have a strong sense of justice, but Wolverine often finds Deadpools conversational nature very annoying. However, the two will often put their differences aside and work well together in a team.

Vanessa Carlysle

Vanessa Carlysle is Wade's fiance. Vanessa and Wade meet one day and bond over their weird lives, which further leads to a relationship forming between them. Although Wade ultimately proposes to Vanessa (in the comics, he breaks up with Vanessa) after being diagnosed with cancer. This leaves her devastated.
