Deadpool is a mercenary antihero from the Marvel Comic universe who is known for his humor and tendency to break the fourth wall. His talkative nature also earned him the name the “Merc with a Mouth.” Although initially making only guest appearances, his popularity later resulted in a series of his own.

He is aided by his accelerated healing factor during battle. He is also aware of being a comic book character, which gives him access to otherwise inaccessible knowledge and more hilarious scenes. Although in some versions it is implied otherwise, his real name is Wade Wilson (hinting his outfit was modelled after Slade Wilson/Deathstroke).
