OtapediaDizzy GUILTY GEAR - Nendoroid

Guilty Gear is a popular series of fighting games from Japanese developer Arc System Works. Since its first release in 1998, the series has produced several sequels, manga adaptations, and drama CDs. Its enduring popularity has earned Guilty Gear a cult classic status among gaming critics. From the first sequel, Guilty Gear X, the heroine Dizzy captured the distinct and unorthodox design spirit of the franchise. Her renewed popularity and compelling design made Dizzy the first Guilty Gear Nendoroid figure, seen in "Nendoroid Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 Dizzy."

About Dizzy

Dizzy is a playable character and heroine from the Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. She is a half-human, half-gear pacifist Gear Commander. She made her first appearance in the game Guilty Gear X.

About Dizzy: Background

Dizzy grew up as an orphan under the care of an elderly couple unaware of her origins. Her accelerated growth rate, a result of being half-gear, frightened the townspeople. Eventually, Dizzy hid in the Forest of Demons occasionally visited by her adoptive parents then left in solitude. After three years, she had grown to the physical appearance and mental capacity of a 20-year-old human. After the public learns of her existence, the government places a bounty on Dizzy in hopes of eliminating her. The events that unfold after the bounty lead Dizzy to meet Ky Kiske and the main protagonist Sol Badguy.

Dizzy is mature and polite with a deep love of nature and humanity. She hates conflict, preferring to avoid it when possible. However, she can be moved to violence when threatened, acknowledging the place of destruction in nature. Dizzy initially views her immense power as a curse that prevented her ability to bond with humans. While she longs for human contact, years of persecution led Dizzy to distrust humans and retreat to isolation.

About Dizzy: Abilities

Through her birth, Dizzy possesses immense power, even for a Gear. Like all Gear, Dizzy has superhuman strength, regenerative abilities, and high durability. She can use high-powered Gear techniques, such as Gamma Ray, but holds back from unleashing her full power. Most notably, Dizzy possesses unique shapeshifting abilities. These abilities show through most in her systems, or wings, the guardians Necro and Undine. Necro and Undine can act on their own accord to intervene when Dizzy is in danger.

In terms of gameplay, Dizzy excels in ranged fighting. She has a fairly high defense with a largely projectile moveset, allowing players to put pressure on enemies from afar. She can also switch easily between range and close attacks, making her a popular player character choice for beginners. However, her more advanced moves are more difficult to pull off strategically and efficiently.

Other Important Guilty Gear Characters

After two decades, the Guilty Gear franchise has amassed a large cast of characters. As a major character in Guilty Gear X and Guilty Gear XX, Dizzy has strong relationships with the other main characters of the series.

Sol Badguy

Sol Badguy is the main character in the Guilty Gear franchise. He debuted in the series' first entry, Guilty Gear, in 1998. He was a lead scientist on the Gear Project and served as the prototype Gear over 100 years before the main storyline. After Gears turned on the human race, Sol joined the fight for humanity as part of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights. However, he grew disillusioned with the Order and became a bounty hunter instead. Sol participates in the Holy Knights Tournament after the bounty for Dizzy arises.

Ky Kiske

Ky Kiske is the secondary protagonist of the Guilty Gear series and Sol Badguy's rival. During the Crusades, he was a chief in the Sacred Order of Holy Knights. He then became a captain in the International Police Force. Ky has a straightforward personality. He is kind and principle-driven, pursuing his devotion to religion, justice, and order throughout the series. Ky clashes with Sol's rebellious and unorthodox methods after the events of the Crusades. Ky finds Dizzy after hearing rumors about a nonviolent Gear in order to question his own sense of justice.

Justice

Justice is a central character and primary antagonist in the Guilty Gear universe. Originally created as a means to end war, Justice forgets her purpose and becomes hostile toward humanity. As the original Commander Gear, she organizes the attack on humanity, instigating the Crusades. The threat of her return triggers the plot of the early game entries. Her impact created the hostile relationship between Gears and humanity, causing the bounty on Dizzy years later.
