About Killua Zoldyck: Background

Killua Zoldyck is the son of Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck. The Zoldyck Family is known to be a family of assassins, and as a result, from a young age, Killua took part in training to become one. At a young age, he had mastered multiple killing techniques and showed potential to become the best assassin in the family.

When he was six, his parents forced him to battle in martial arts tournaments at the Heavens Arena till he reached the 200th floor. It took him a total of 2 years to reach the 200th floor. Finally, when he turned 11 years old, he rebelled against his family and ran away to take the Hunter Exam.

He shows arrogance in his abilities; however, he is humbled as time passes. Despite his harsh upbringing, Killua has retained a positive outlook on life and shows many moments of mischievousness and cheekiness. Contrasting this positive attitude, Killua also shows a deadly and violent side, as a result of the assassination training that he received as a child. Due to being a kind-hearted person at heart, this side of his nature comes to play when he feels he must protect his friends and will offer himself up without a second thought.

About Killua Zoldyck: Abilities

Killua is noted to be the most talented assassin in the entire history of the Zoldycks. Due to being trained as an assassin, he has a high tolerance for poison and torture methods and extreme physical strength and combat techniques. His potential is unlimited, and he is able to learn new skills very quickly. Along with insane combat techniques, he is also intellectually capable. He can plan strategies to defeat enemies stronger than him.

One of his most notable Nen abilities is the “Godspeed”. This ability uses Killua’s electric aura and allows him to amplify his speed and exceed his physical limitations. “Godspeed” refers to his two abilities, “Whirlwind” and “Speed of Lightning”. Killua develops a series of Nen abilities that all have electrical properties; this is a result of the countless electric shocks he had to endure as part of his training. The electric shocks were both used as training, torture, and punishment.

While at first Killua shows very cold and ruthless sides, as he becomes closer with his friends, most notably Gon, he becomes more human, and we see this side of him less and less.

Gon Freecss

Gon Freecss is Killua’s best friend. They first meet at the first Hunter Exam and become close from then on. When the two initially meet, Killua shows arrogance in his ability and shows his ruthless side more often. However, as their friendship progresses, these sides of Killua are less seen. Despite not seeing this side of Killua, he has an unwavering loyalty towards Gon and will not hesitate to kill or threaten those that attack him or Gon. As the series progresses, Killua also becomes very attached to Gon, as he considers Gon to be his first true friend and will do anything to protect him without care for himself.

Kurapika

Kurapika is also one of Killua’s closest friends. The two also meet at the Hunter Exam, and from the very start, they do anything they can to protect each other. As they progress through the exam, they continue supporting each other and their goals. After exams finish, they still often travel together. Notably, Kurapika, Gon, and Leorio save Killua from the Zoldycks family. These characters continue to adventure together to help achieve their goals and protect each other from the many villains that come after them.

Alluka Zoldyck

Alluka is the second youngest child of Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck and is the younger sister of Killua. While at first she is shown as an uncontrollable girl, when she reunites with Killua, Alluka shows affection to him and a very lovable personality. She is very cheerful and trusts Killua, and this is returned. She calls Killua “big brother”.
