This Ryuko Nendoroid accurately recreates her navy hair with red highlights. She wears a navy sailor school uniform with red accents and a red glove on her left hand. About Ryuko Matoi

Ryuko is the main character of Kill la Kill. She transfers to Honnoji Academy to search for the twin of her red Scissor Blade and the people behind her father's murder.

About Ryuko Matoi: Background

Ryuko has a very fierce personality. She demonstrates extreme courage, and she directly insults Satsuki Kiryuin and demands her to answer her questions. She also takes on Takaharu Fukuroda despite clearly being overpowered.

Despite her violent nature, she also shows a calm and polite side, mainly when she eats with Mankanshoku. This is due to admiring how Mako's mother makes food and is a result of not having a motherly presence as she grew up. However, she is the most unstable when she is in a fit of rage, as she loses all control of herself.

Ryuko grew up with her father, and when he is murdered, she becomes fixated on finding her father's killer. So she transfers to Honnoji Academy to find her father's killer and to find the missing half of her scissors.

About Ryuko Matoi: Abilities

Ryuko's signature weapon is half of a pair of scissors. She has it in one hand, and the blade can cut Life Fibers. Her sword is one of the only blades that can cut the Libe Fibers. She later finds the second half of the scissors and obtains it.

She also has the Kamui Senketsu. Ryoko allows Senketsu to absorb the informs Life Fibers. This allows for it to absorb the power. When she fights against Nui Harime, his Life fiber Synchronize begins to evolve and allows her to truly become one with Senketsu. Senketsu glows with power and evolves to defeat Nui with ease.

In one of the arcs, Ryuko is forced to put on Ragyo's Junketsu. This alters her memories and makes her believe that Ragyo had raised her with affection. Due to Ryuko being fused with Life Fibers, Ragyo believes that Ryuko will be able to bring out Junketsu's full potential, unlike Satsuki Kiryuin. However, after Mako and Senketsu’s effort to free her, Ryoko returns from the brainwashing and rips Junketsu apart.

Her father raised Ryuko, and the two had a powerful bond. As a result, when he is murdered, she becomes fixated on finding the killer. This leads to her aggressive attitude towards Satsuki.

Satsuki Kiyuin

Satsuki Kiryuin and Ryuko start as rivals. This is due to Ryuko's suspicion that Satsuki had something to do with her father's death. However, Satsuki seems to show that she has no intention of hurting Ryuko as when she is broken and defeated, she covers her with a blanket and leaves a piece of Senketsu with her. Satsuki seems to consider her as someone handy. When it is revealed that the two are related, it causes a drastic change in their relationship.

Senketsu

At first, Ryuko is embarrassed about Senketsu due to his revealing appearance but later wears him to unleash his full potential. She considers Senketsu a dear friend and is unwilling to let him go. She also showed concern when Mako's mother was aggressively cleaning him.

Mako Mankanshoku

Mako is one of Ryuko's closest friends. They two start getting along the moment Ryuko transfers to their school. Initially, Mako's obsessive actions made Ryuko feel uncomfortable, but as time passed, they grew very fond of each other and became best friends. Mako is always there to support Ryuko and must be there so Ryuko can fully relax and fight with maximum power.

Nui Harime

They are enemies due to Nui killing Ryuko's father. Every time Ryuko sees Nui, she goes into a state of blind fury. Her anger is so intense that she makes Senketsu go Berserk. While she has a deep hatred for Nui, Ryuko is also scared that her rage will make her lose control and potentially lead to her death.
