Roy Alphard is a Sin Archbishop of Gluttony focused on the aspect of bizarre eating. He has green eyes with yellow centers as well as dark brown hair that is long and disheveled. He generally looks young though has a very intense expression that has been described as a mischievous smile. His clothing looks to consist of simple garbs with little decoration. Just like the other two Sin Archbishops, they speak in a collective manner and use 'us' and 'we' when referring themselves (even in the singular case).

Gluttony

The Sin Archbishops of Gluttony each focus on a separate aspect of consumption. Roy's aspect is bizarre eating and he has absolutely no standards with what he eats and merely desires to eat a lot. He doesn't care about the quality of the food like Ley Batenkaitos or who he eats with like Louis Arneb. Fueled by hunger and with the least discerning taste among the trio, there is very little that can dissuade Roy from doing everything in his power to keep eating.

History

Not much has been revealed about Roy's past. He first appears in the story during the events of Arc 4. He intercepted Subaru, Crusch, and Julius as they were chasing down Capella. Julius fought him head on while the other two continued the chase. While other Sin Archbishops acted as large targets, Roy (and Ley) were often fighting on the ground level and generally causing chaos. Their power as Sin Archbishops meant that they were difficult to ignore and needed to be dealt with lest they completely ripped apart any kind of network that the heroes attempted to set up.
Eventually even their terrifying power were pushed past their limits. Roy and Ley were on the verge of being defeated when Louis stepped in and bargained with the heroes. Although both Ley and Roy were exhausted, Louis threatened that that the powers of Eclipse was still able to completely destroy everyone in the fight. After that, the Sin Archbishops of Gluttony retreated from Priestella and managed to escape unharmed though they had already managed to feast to a limited amount by that point.
The following events are not yet canon as it is only currently depicted in the web novel and the light novel has yet to catch up. The Gluttony siblings don't rest for long and even as Subaru and his friends journey to the Pleiades Watchtower for answers, Ley and Roy attack it with a horde of Demon Beasts. Unfortunately this sequence of events are not yet concluded at this point and remain to be written.

Relationships

Ley Batenkaitos - Ley is Roy's brother and is also a Sin Archbishop of Gluttony and represents the aspect of gourmet. Roy does not share Ley's opinion on placing special emphasis on who he eats.
Louis Arneb - Louis is Roy's sister and is also a Sin Archbishop of Gluttony and represents the aspect of satiation. Roy does not share Louis' philosophy when it comes to eating of it's not 'what you ate' but rather 'who you ate with'.

Abilities

Authority of Gluttony - Roy possesses the Authority of Gluttony and is able to eat an opponent's name and memories. He currently possesses a large amount of accrued skill and talents from this power. Eclipse is the trump card of Gluttony and the full breadth of this ability is not yet revealed, though some portions of it have already been activated and Otto described the feeling of it as something sinister on a whole new level.
Accrued Skill - Roy leverages everything from martial art techniques and magic from those he has consumed whenever he fights. This does not include Spirit Arts or Divine Protections. Examples of his abilities are Palm of the Fist King (a powerful martial technique gained from Neiji Rockheart) and Snake of the Twin Sword (making it possible to launch several combination slashes at very high speed)

Roy uses two claws attached to his hands. He is skilled, fast, and light making him a terribly dangerous and agile foe. He also has daggers hidden in his clothes.
