Lewes Meyer is a half elf girl who lived over 400 years prior to the events of the story along with Echidna the Witch of Greed. Lewes Meyer is also the collective name for a group of clones of the original that were created by Echidna during her research for immortality. They all have the appearance of a small half elf girl with long pink hair and blue eyes. The clones wear a long, dark purple robe, black boots, with black and red wristbands on both arms.

The Original Body

The body of the original Lewes Meyer was kept in a crystal in stasis until the end of Arc 4. She looks exactly the same as her clones but is dressed in a long white robe instead of a dark purple one.

The Different Clones

All of the clones's bodies are created entirely from mana. While there are a multitude of Lewes Meyer clones, only five retain an actual personality: Alma, Bilma, Cima, Delma (known as Alpha, Beta, Sigma, and Theta in the original web novel), and Omega (whose name wasn't changed from the web novel). In order to function as constructs of mana, Alma, Bilma, Cima, and Delma rotate as the Lewes every four days while the others recharge. Omega is the copy who monitors activity in the Sanctuary and her existence is kept a secret from everyone.
All of the other clones do not retain knowledge or experience and effectively act as eyes, and ears for the main ones, relaying what they see and hear via telepathy. They have so little will of their own that they require orders to remind them to eat food once in a while. They function as workers and take orders from anyone who has been recognized as a Disciple of Greed by Echidna and who then touch the crystal that the original Lewes resides in.

History

The Lewes copies were initially created by Echidna in her quest and experimentation for immortality over 400 years ago. Both of them lived in the area of the Sanctuary along with Beatrice and Roswaal of that time (who eventually possessed his descendents and is known in the story as Roswaal L. Mathers). Unfortunately the experiment was cut short when Echidna gets killed by Satella. Lewes Alma, Bilma, Cima, and Delma begin managing the Sanctuary from this point on.
The four administrative clones and the miscellaneous worker clones effectively keep the Sanctuary running smoothly for centuries until the events of Arc 4. As Subaru arrives and begins looping deaths and figuring out how to rescue the villagers as well as prevent Elsa from massacring everyone, Lewes Omega warns Garfiel to be wary of the outsiders. For a while Subaru was able to command the Lewes clones but in the final stretch of the Arc Echidna rescinded her blessing and he loses their obedience then. In time, Emilia gains this ability as well after she undoes the magic that kept the Sanctuary sealed off from the outside world.
As the events of Arc 4 finally wind down, unbeknownst to anyone Echidna absorbs the soul within Lewes Omega and uses it to take possession of the original Lewes Meyer's body. The effectively newly incarnated Echidna calls herself Omega and begins wandering the Kingdom.

Relationships

Echidna - Echidna and Lewes were good friends, evidenced by Lewes trusting Echidna enough to let Echidna seal her in a crystal for her experiments.
Beatrice and Roswaal L. Mathers - Lewes got along well with Beatrice and Roswaal 400 years ago, as they were all followers of Echidna.
Garfiel Tinsel - Garfiel grew up in the Sanctuary and works closely with the Lewes in his duty to take care of the sanctuary. Lewes Delma entered the Grave of the Witch of Greed to try and rescue him before being forced into taking the trial herself.
Subaru - Across the events of Arc 4, Subaru gains and loses the ability to command the Lewes clones.
Emilia - At the end of Arc 4, Emilia gains the ability to command the Lewes clones.

Abilities

Telepathy - All Lewes Meyer clones are capable of communicating with each other telepathically. The main personalities are able to see and hear through the workers using this ability.
