Frederica is a beast human woman in service of Roswaal L. Mathers as a maid. She possesses long pale gold hair and green eyes. She is tall with a muscular build and is typically dressed in the standard maid uniform of the Mathers mansion complete with maid headband. While she looks mostly like an average (Subaru even hazarded to call her beautiful) woman, her teeth are comprised of a series of sharp fangs that show quite clearly when she smiles. Others have noted that she looks like a carnivorous hunter eyeing its prey when she narrows her eyes. She is generally kind although is noted to be firm and strict when it comes to training others in maid duties.
History
While Frederica's mother Raela Thompson is fully human, her missing father was a half-beast which made her a quarter beast human. Raela, Frederica, and Garfiel (her brother) were wayward wanderers for a portion of the children's early lives before being picked up by Roswaal and given a home at the Sanctuary. Raela left both children there to search for and bring back her missing husband. Frederica lived at the Sanctuary until she was 12 years old when she entered service of the Mathers and Miload family as a maid.
In her initial time at the mansion she served as the person who taught both Ram and Rem their skills as maids. After almost a decade of service, she quit her job but was later invited back after Rem disappeared and Ram being unable to keep up with the tasks of the mansion upkeep on her own. She eventually also took Petra under her wing as the younger girl trained to be a maid in the mansion.
During the events of Arc 4, Frederica served dutifully at the mansion while Subaru, Emilia, and team were busy with the events at the Sanctuary. Throughout multiple timelines Subaru spoke with Frederica and learned a great deal about Garfiel and also a bit more about demi-humans in this world. She fought valiantly against Elsa (in multiple timelines) but tended to end up dead when attempting head on confrontation. However, in the timeline that Subaru survives Frederica is able to help evacuate the mansion to the Sanctuary. Following those events Frederica continues to remain at the mansion and training Petra.
The author has said that Frederica is scheduled to be featured in Arc 7 and that she will have a main arc in 11.
Relationships
Raela Thompson - Raela is Frederica's fully human mother who took care of her until the family was invited by Roswaal into the Sanctuary. She eventually left to look for her missing husband though she never returned.
Garfiel Tinsel - Garfiel is Frederica's beast human brother who she cares deeply for. She maintained communication with him via letters every once in a while. As children when they sparred, she often sent him flying, ignoring the seven year age difference between them.
Roswaal L. Mathers - Roswaal is the employer for the majority of Frederica's working life as a maid.
Ram, Rem, and Petra - Frederica has trained Ram, Rem, and Petra in their duties as maids, serving as their mentor while coming to grips with their various responsibilites around the mansion.
Natsuki Subaru - Natsuki Subaru first arrived at the Mathers mansion when Frederica had already left but met him when she was called back to help pick up the slack that Ram wasn't able to manage with her sister out of commission. Despite her contract with Roswaal which limited the amount of information she was able to impart, she served as an invaluable source of insight into Garfiel, her brother who was being antagonistic at that point as well as the plight of Demi-Humans.
Abilities
Maid - Frederica is an expert maid and has trained several different maids in the service of the Mathers mansion. She was left to manage the mansion even in the absence of her master.
Beastification - Frederica's lineage from her father's side allows Frederica to either fully or partially transform into a large leapard beast although it seems that her brother Garfiel is a more capable combatant than she is.
Rare Blood - Clind has noted that Frederica has a rare kind of blood and that there can be dangers associated with it.
