Julius Juukulius, also known as the ‘Valuable Knight’, is a member of Lugnica’s Royal Guard, and is Anastasia Hoshin’s personal knight. He has short and neatly arranged light purple hair with a strand of hair across his face, and has yellow eyes. He wears the Lugnica Royal Guard uniform; a black shirt and white pants, black shoes with red soles, a white coat with red sleeves and red trim, as well as a collared white cape with black and red accents.
Julius had his name eaten by Roy Alphard during the events of Arc 5, erasing any previous knowledge of him from everyone’s minds.
Julius and his brother Joshua were raised by their uncle Alviero Juukulius, who became their adoptive father after the death of their father when they were young.
Personality
Julius is mindful towards his position as a member of Lugnica’s nobility, leading to him maintaining a proper disposition at all times. He has been shown to be caring and considerate towards others. He has a strong belief that all people should strive to improve themselves, and thus he assesses others on whether he believes they are good or bad.
Julius dislikes people who don’t know their place, which lead to him being on bad terms with Subaru for a while after meeting him.
Relationships
Anastasia Hoshin - Julius is loyal to Anastasia as her knight, and the two show a strong bond of trust towards each other.
Joshua Juukulius - Julius shows love and respect towards his younger brother.
Ricardo Welkin - Julius shows respect towards Ricardo as a friend and comrade, despite the class difference between them. Ricardo worked hard to encourage Julius when he was doubting himself during the events of arc 5. Ricardo sacrificed his arm to protect Julius during their fight with Roy Alphard.
Reinhard van Astrea - Julius is close friends with Reinhard, and they also work together as part of the Lugnica Royal Guard. Reinhard is shown to respect the decisions of Julius, even if he disagrees with the decision.
Subaru Natsuki - Julius initially hated Subaru upon first meeting him due to his belief that Subaru did not know his place, even going so far as to greatly injure him in a duel that he started in order to put Subaru in his place. Julius’ feelings towards Subaru changed after their battle with the Hakugei, after which he apologised to Subaru for how he treated him when they first met. Julius became close with Subaru during the planning and attacking of the Witch Cult, after which Julius began to consider Subaru as a friend.
Abilities
Divine Protection of Gathering Spirits - Julius is able to see and communicate with spirits, allowing him to easily form contracts with spirits.
Spirit Contracts - Julius was contracted with 6 spirits; the red spirit of fire La, the blue spirit of water Kua, the green spirit of wind Aro, the yellow spirit of earth Ik, the white spirit of yang In, and the black spirit of yin, Nes. Julius can cast magic of any element though the use of these spirits.
Julius’ contracts with these spirits was severed when his name was eaten by Roy.
Spirit Arts - Julius can channel the power of his contracted spirits to perform a variety of magical techniques:
Clarista - Julius imbues his weapon with the elemental power of his contracted spirits.
Al Clarista - Julius projects a beam of destructive elemental energy at a target.
El Clausel - Julius envelops his weapon in elemental energy that can pierce through armour.
Fell Goa - Julius calls upon La and Aro to conjure a large magical firestorm.
Nect - Julius tunes into the mana interference between people, allowing him to share senses with others. The target is unable to discern between their senses and Julius’ senses if the connection is too strong.
Swordsmanship - Julius is a well trained swordsman and is capable of increasing the effectiveness of his sword attacks by using his spirits.
