Yui Horie

Yui Horie is a professional voice actress and music vocalist signed to VIMS. She was cast to voice the character Felix in the anime series Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World.

Yui was born on September 20th 1976 in Tokyo, spending most of her days after school home alone as both of her parents worked late into the night. She would watch some anime series growing up, attributing Dirty Pair as one that interested her significantly, as she would go on to enjoy recreating scenes from the anime with her friends from school. In 1995 she started a four year course in university to train her further in the performing arts, and instead of choosing to find part-time work to assist in paying her way through study, she spent more of her time finding audition work. It was through this that she discovered the voice acting magazine Voice Animage which led her to audition within the Arts Vision scholarship program, and became one of only five students that were selected out of the 3,000 candidates. While still in training, she landed her voice acting debut in 1997 video game Voice Fantasia: Ushinawareta Voice Power released for the Sega Saturn, and in the same year, she would have her first anime apperance in the OVA VHS release of Photon: The Idiot Adventures as the character Aun Freya. In 1998, Yui would for the first time be cast as a series' main character, performing the role of Haruka in the series Kurogane Communication, an in addition to her voice acting work, the series also used her voice to sing both of the series' theme music, making it her musical debut. The songs My best friend and Dear mama were released on a Mini CD single on November 18 1998, under the label Pony Canyon.
