Female Titan - Attack on Titan
The Female Titan is one of the Nine Titans in the Attack on Titan series. It is notably a “beautiful” Titan with short blonde hair, a body with proportions similar to a normal human, and graceful movements when running and fighting. The Female Titan scores high marks in speed, combat, hardness, and sexiness. The Female Titan first displayed its true fighting powers when fighting against Eren Jaeger’s Attack Titan when it uses its hardened hands and legs, which took out the Attack Titan with a single punch and kick (Chapter 33, Volume 8).
Annie Leonhart controls the powers of the Female Titan which stands at 14 meters high, slightly shorter than the Armored Titan and Attack Titan.
Abilities
The Female Titan has a special ability that allows it to harden its skin on command, which makes it nearly as hard to cut as the Armored Titan. That said, the Female Titan has an incredible amount of control over this ability, as she can direct it to any part of her body, even down to finer and more delicate parts like her fingers. She is also capable of releasing a loud scream that can be used to and attract other Titans in the nearby area. While the Female Titan’s scream can be useful in times of defense when surrounded by enemies, one of the main disadvantages is that the Titans will not only attack the people around her, but will also go after her as well. As such, this ability, if used correctly, can be used to create an effective distraction. That said, if the Female Titan is unable to move, she would be in a considerable amount of danger.
While physically proportionate in size, the Female Titan is skilled in hand-to-hand combat. This combat skill likely comes from the one who controls the Titan itself, Annie in this case. Annie is known for being incredibly skilled in combat due to the intense training that her father put her through at a young age. The results of this training can easily be seen during her time at the 104th Training Corps, where she easily defeats Eren and ends up graduating 4th in her class overall.
While in the 57th Expedition Beyond the Walls, Armin Arlelt spots the Female Titan and deduces that it has an unusual amount of intelligence. In Season 1, Episode 17, the Female Titan is seen killing and wiping out most of the rightwing spotters, but then she finds Armin alone on his horse. Armin ends up falling off his horse due to the Female Titan’s stomping, but stops and slowly lifts off Armin’s hood. Instead of killing him outright, the Female Titan -- Annie -- decides to lift his hood and confirm whether or not he was Eren, as that was her objective. Even after the encounter, the Female Titan decides to not kill Armin. This kind of close encounter between the Female Titan and Armin happens not only once, but twice.
The Female Titan also shows a surprising amount of human intelligence when compared to most other Titans. Rather than simply running directly toward an enemy, the Female Titan is shown to be capable of running, jumping, kicking, and grabbing onto soldier’s maneuvering gear hooks and twirling them around to kill soldiers that the gear was attached to.
In extremely dangerous situations, the Female Titan’s hardening ability is also capable of encasing its user is a crystal-like prison, as Annie does to prevent herself from being captured and interrogated. In this state, Annie is still alive, but is completely unresponsive -- almost as if she were in a kind of coma.
Defeating the Female Titan
In an attempt to kidnap Eren to recover the power that he has, the Female Titan follows Captain Erwin and the center of the Expedition into a nearby forest. In Season 1, Episode 19, the Female Titan swiftly breaks through the Survey Corps’ formation and kills all of her pursuers with ease. She quickly begins to catch up to the center of the Expedition and her target, Eren. Many more soldiers continue to be slaughtered as she continues to get closer to fulfilling her mission.
Shortly after running deeper into the forest, a volley of hooks created specifically for restraining Titans are launched at the Female Titan. As she continues to get entangled by more and more hooks and cables, the Female Titan manages to cover the nape of her neck -- her only true weak spot. As such, she is rendered effectively restrained, yet unable to be defeated.
While trapped, the Female Titan uses its ability to harden her skin to protect her nape. As a last resort, the Female Titan lets out a loud scream, which summons a hoard of regular Titans. The Titans start attacking the surrounding, the Female Titan included.
Later in Season 1, Episode 21, the Female Titan appears again and challenges Eren’s Attack Titan to a duel using hand-to-hand combat. The Female Titan displays impressive joint locks and evasive maneuvers against Eren. Because of her agility and dexterity, the Female Titan manages to punch Eren’s jaw clean off with one of her hardened fists, then swings again to knock him out.
