Anime Series Season 4 - Attack on Titan
The fourth and last season of Attack on Titan was confirmed for a fall 2020 premiere in Japan. Unlike Season 3, which was split into two parts with a gap of 6 months between each other (from October 2018 to April 2019), it seems that Season 4 is not going to be split into two parts. In Japan, Season 4 will air on the NHK General TV network. Viewers from other countries will be able to watch it on the streaming platform Crunchyroll. With the news on Season 4 of the Attack on Titan series, it was also announced that this fourth season was going to be its last of the TV anime series.
Animation studio
During the broadcast of the second part of the third season, a rumor emerged on the internet that hinted that the production company WIT Studio would step down from the Attack on Titan project and would stop producing the series. The apparent reason was rumored to be due to the heavy workload that was required in the production of the anime was excessive. This information was never confirmed or denied, but Attack on Titan fans are expectantly waiting for the final installment and the future of the plot in the ever so popular anime series.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Teaser
In Summer 2019, during the final airings of the third season of the anime series, a teaser for the final season premiered. It was a 15-second long teaser which featured a voiceover from Mikasa imploring Eren to come home. It ends with a shot of an older Eren. This coincides with the news that the original manga, which has been published since 2009, is also entering its final story Arc.
However, Hajime Isayama has just recently released this information and it is still uncertain exactly how long it is going to take, with no definite end date released as of yet. Therefore how much of this last Arc is going to be covered in the last anime season is yet to be confirmed. Taking into consideration the complexity of the manga chapters that Season 3 did not cover, and the unsuccessful results of a rush season finale of another series that have been compared with Attack on Titan, like Game of Thrones, some fans consider a challenge to wrap all that information within a single season, and wonder how much of the story is going to be sacrificed.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Story Details
At the end of Season 3, Attack on Titan explored Eren’s basement and revealed the truth of the world, the Titans and the dangers that the characters have to deal with. The final Arc that Season 4 is going to adapt is the story of Marley, the nation that lives outside the walls and where the Titans are thought might come from.
Season 4 will explore a new nation that lives outside the walls in the enemy land of Marley. With the exploration of a new land, there also will be many new characters introduced that will determine the course of the story and the end. Eventually, new and old characters will meet in a final and climactic showdown between the Eldians inside the walls and the Marleyans, who kept them captive for more than 100 years.
Also, Season 4 of Attack on Titan will go deeper into the story and new Titans will appear. Political issues are also very significant in the final Arc of the manga, moral and values will be more ambiguous than before. Likewise, there might be more time skips and the story might start much after the end of Season 3.
Marley Arc
Across the sea, there is a nation called Marley that is using the power of the Titans to finish its fight with the Mid-East Allied Forces. However the Marleyan military is starting to realize that the power of the Titans is losing its relevance in the modern age. Hence, in order to keep its supremacy in the world, they need the power of the Founding Titan more than ever. However, unfortunately for them, the inheritor of the Founding Titan is still Eren Jaeger and the last remnants of Eldia, the devils of Paradis Island. So Reiner Braun will have to confront them one more time. Even so, Eren Jaeger, with Zeke Jaeger, seem to have elaborate a plan on their own and have the intention of starting a final battle that will affect the whole world.
