Other important Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

As a minor character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman supports two main characters of the film: Batman and Superman.

Batman

Batman is one of the protagonists in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He is one of the most popular heroes from DC Comics. Unlike other heroes, Batman lacks superhuman abilities and instead uses his wealth, intelligence, and strength to fight crime. He develops a cynical worldview after witnessing the murder of his parents as a young boy. In the film, Snyder wanted to expand on Batman's wearied personality, using his appearance in the Dark Knight Returns comics as inspiration. Ben Affleck originally caused controversy in the comic fandom for his casting in the role. However, his performance received praise from critics and fans alike. He reprised the role once more in 2017's Justice League.

Superman

Superman is the secondary protagonist in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, portrayed by Henry Cavill. He also is a hero from DC Comics known as the civilian Clark Kent. He was raised in infancy by Jonathan and Martha Kent after his parents sent him away to survive the explosion of planet Krypton. Superman possesses many superpowers including incredible strength and impervious skin. His one weakness is the extraterrestrial substance, Kryptonite. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Superman grapples with his now public superhero identity following the events of Man of Steel.
