BE@RBRICK Breaking Bad Pink Bear 100% & 400% Set

Breaking Bad's ominous yet adorable Pink Bear joins Medicom Toy's appropriately bear-shaped figure line. The Pink Bear retains its missing eye and black burn marks on its left side from the series. The scorch marks are done with great detail with a soft, matte paint and irregular, natural-looking outline. Its original fluffy appearance comes through in the line work on the white tufts of fur seen on the tummy and face. The remaining eye faces to the left, reminding fans of its significance later in the series. Elements of the design retain the cuteness of a child's toy, such as the pink tongue sticking out of its mouth.

About Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is an American crime drama TV series produced by Vince Gilligan. The story revolves around protagonist Walter White after his diagnosis with stage-three lung cancer. Disheartened, the underpaid chemistry teacher turns to crystal meth production to secure the finances for his treatment without jeopardizing his family's future. He enters the drug trade with his former student, Jesse Pinkman. He uses his chemistry background and knowledge to produce the highest quality, incredibly pure crystal meth. Gilligan developed the show's premise by challenging the static longevity of most television shows and centering change. As a result, the series showcases Walter Whites’ transformation from hero to an antagonist. The title Breaking Bad is a Southern old colloquialism meaning “to turn to a life of crime.”

Breaking Bad aired from 2008 until 2013 for five seasons consisting of 62 episodes. It debuted to generally positive reviews. Notably, the series' ratings increased with each season, with the final season considered its best. Breaking Bad received 262 industry nominations throughout its run and won 110 times. In 2013, it broke the Guinness World Records as the most critically-acclaimed show of all time.

About the Pink Bear

The Pink Teddy Bear is a recurring motif throughout Breaking Bad. It came from a plane crash near Walter White’s house, landing in Walter’s pool. As a result of the crash, the bear sustained severe burns on its left side and lost an eyeball. Appearing multiple times in season two, critics believe the bear represents the consequence of Walter’s actions. It also foreshadows the death of drug lord Gus Fring, who sustains nearly identical injuries. Walter keeps the bear's eye in his possession for two seasons after its debut.

Important Breaking Bad characters

Breaking Bad centralizes character development to drive its plot. The changes underwent by Walter White and Jesse Pinkman

Walter White

Walter White is the protagonist of Breaking Bad, portrayed by Bryan Cranston. He is an intelligent graduate of the California Institute of Technology and co-founder of the company Gray Matter Technology. Unfortunately, the company only turned a profit after he quits. Dejected, he moves to New Mexico, where he becomes a high school chemistry teacher. Breaking Bad begins on his 50th birthday, when he is diagnosed with stage-three lung cancer. He begins crystal meth production for financial security while treating his cancer. He takes up the name "Heisenberg'' as an alias and builds a reputation as a high-powered drug lord. Cranston won four Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Walter.

Jesse Pinkman

Jesse Pinkman is the deuteragonist of Breaking Bad portrayed by Aaron Paul. Jesse is Walter's former student and a small-time meth dealer and addict. He teams up with Walter in the first season and when Walter blackmails him into letting him in on his business. Walter White uses his chemistry knowledge to refine Jesse's meth production and Jesse uses his connections to sell it. Jesse experiences drastic character development opposite of Walter. He starts out apathetic and unsympathetic but grows increasingly guilty about his involvement in the drug trade. Critics cite his character development as one of the show's strongest elements. Like Cranston, Paul received universal acclaim for his performance.
