Steve Aoki x BE@RBRICK Collaboration Background

The collaboration between Aoki and Medicom Toy began in 2016 and, as of early 2021, has produced one unique figure.

Collaboration Planning and Launch

Around May 2016, an announcement that a BE@RBRICK figure with Steve Aoki’s likeness would be made available for fans and noted that it could be purchased later that year in September. The release included one unique design that came in two different sizes: BE@RBRICK’s 100% and 400%. This is currently the only BE@RBRICK design that has been created through this collaboration.

BE@RBRICK 100% Steve Aoki

This item from Medicom Toy takes Steve Aoki’s likeness and turns it into a unique, collectible figure. It shares many features with the real Aoki, like his long, straight hair and mustache. The figure also wears a white Dim Mak shirt, which is a reference to the record label founded by Aoki in 1996. Although the figure shares the big, round bear-like ears of a standard BE@RBRICK figure, they are casted with clear plastic, giving it a more human appearance. The owner of this figure can also change the pose of this Aoki BE@RBRICK, as its arms and legs are articulated. Like most other 100% BE@RBRICK figures, this recreation stands at approximately 2.8 inches tall, making it a rather modest figure.

After gaining a following for himself, Aoki would go on to create an independent record label named Dim Mak as a reference to his greatest childhood influence, Bruce Lee.
