Synopsis
Long ago, the world was populated with all kinds of different races living alongside humans including elves, dwarves, vampires, and homunculi. At the top of the hierarchy were dragons who ruled over everything. Since then, the dragons have all but disappeared and the remaining races continue to coexist together.
2X19, Tokyo. The peace that has continued in the world is threatened by a criminal organization called “Nine” whose goal is to claim for themselves the powers of the dragons of old and use it to change the world. A special division of the police department is created to oppose Nine. Nicknamed Tokunana, the team is composed of experts to fight against Nine - a boss, a samurai, a ninja, a playboy, an analyzer, a sniper, and an ordinary officer new to the unit who must prove his worth.
Background
Tokunana is an original TV anime first announced in March 2019. The anime is being overseen by Takayuki Kuriyama as chief director with Harume Kosaka directing, Yuichiro Higashide writing the script, and Hiroya Iijima adapting Nanae Chrono’s original character designs for animation. The anime will premiere in Japan in October 2019.

A field commander for Tokunana, Shiori is lazy and unmotivated, and no one can ever tell what he is thinking. Due to losing a previous partner, he cares greatly for his friends who trust him implicitly. He has an IQ higher than 150 and is extremely perceptive. Unlike Seiji he is physically weak.

The information analyst of Tokunana, Kujaku is close in age to Seiji but is always quiet and calm. He keeps a bit of distance between himself and the other members, and he doesn’t divulge personal information more than is necessary.

Akane is in charge of Tokunana’s combat division. Though she was a gentle personality, she is a skilled swordswoman and has exceptional strength when it comes to close combat.

Tokunana’s mechanic, Bellemer is a backup member of Tokunana who is able to fix just about any machine. She looks young, but she is intelligent, adaptable, and swiftly carries out Ichinose’s instructions.

Tokunana’s combat specialist, Rokusuke is a genius sharpshooter who resourcefully gets the job done, whatever the distance. Highly experienced, he is ready for anything.
