Synopsis
Suzu is a 14-year-old girl and descendant of a respected shaman who saved people from catastrophe in the past. She lost her parents at a young age and his since been strictly raised. She lives in a highly cultured community diverse with people, religion, and science. The “Forbidden Grounds” is a place she was told never to go, but curiosity and doubt overcame her. There she met a seed. It sprouted and called itself “Colu”! She then returns to the Forbidden Grounds and finds that a world she’s never seen before lies beyond it. The ultimate truth, destiny is shown to her. Does she take hold and lead it to its end?
Background
The Coluboccoro sci-fi, eco-conscious fantasy short film written and directed by Kenji Itoso with production by Anime Innovation Tokyo was first released in 2007. It is now being renewed as well as given an additional scene. The staff includes art director Goichi Kudo, sound director Toru Nakano, music composer, Norihiro Tsuru, executive producer Hiroaki Kaeuchi, and anime production by Kenji Studio. Kenji Itoso will return as the director, producer, and screenwriter. The theme song “Toi Hito” will be performed, composed, and written by Hanami.

Coluboccoro (Voiced by: Emiri Kato)
Coluboccoro is a mysterious spirit of nature who seems to want to help Suzu regain peace and nature to the ruined villages. It has been said for a long time not to pour water on its seed. Its existence is shrouded in mystery.
Suzu (Voiced by: Emiri Kato)
Suzu is a 14-year-old princess and descendant of a respected shaman who saved people from catastrophe in the past. She was born as a successor and has a mysterious strength in her blood. She isn’t much interested in politics or worried about not knowing what she wants to do with her life.
Suika (Voiced by: Kouki Miyata)
Suika is a boy who loves Suzu. It is said he has confessed his love to her no less than 50 times, but will his dream ever come true?
Manpuku (Voiced by: Kunihiro Kawamoto)
Manpuku strictly raises Suzu as a successor after the death of her parents. Suzu calls him “Jii.”
Tutor (Voiced by: Junko Ueda)
Tutor tutors Suzu who will inherit the country in the future, but Suzu is not very good at studying and her efforts are wasted.
