Myne (Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi)

The lowly daughter of a soldier, Myne retains the memories of her former life as bookish student Urano Motosu who was killed in an accident right after getting her dream job as a librarian. Finding herself in a world where books are scarce, Myne relies on her memories in order to recreate them and enlists her sister Turi and friend Lutz to help.

Frieda (Voiced by: Aya Uchida)

Frieda is Gustaf’s granddaughter. She looks like a cute kid but is just as money hungry as her granddad and even states her hobby as “saving money.” In fact, she gets just as excited when talking about money as Myne does talking about books. She was also Myne’s first friend when she couldn’t go outside because of her poor health.

Eva (Voiced by: Fumiko Orikasa)

Eva is Myne’s mother. She works at a dyeing factory. In this world, being good at sewing is a must for being considered beautiful, and Eva is indeed both talented at embroidery and very pretty. Always worrying about Myne's poor health, Eva doesn’t really understand her desire for books but supports her all the same.

Gustaf (Voiced by: Hiroshi Naka)

Gustaf is the head of the guild. Normally he just does business with and for the elite. Gustaf is all smiles on the outside but only really cares about money and so doesn't really get on with Penno. He does really love his granddaughter Frieda, though.

Turi (Voiced by: Megumi Nakajima)

Turi is Myne's little sister. She is a caring little girl beloved by everyone in town. She is training to be a seamstress while preparing for her baptism.

Lutz (Voiced by: Mutsumi Tamura)

Lutz is Myne’s childhood friend. The youngest of four siblings, he dreams of becoming a peddler. Despite many setbacks he always encourages Myne in her quest to recreate books.

Otto (Voiced by: Satoshi Hino)

Otto is a junior soldier serving under Gunther and is in charge of company accounts. Before becoming a soldier he was a peddler but used up all his savings to become a citizen after falling in love.

Ferdinand (Voiced by: Sho Hayami)

Ferdinand is a priest and Myne’s guardian at the temple. He is from a noble family, but for various reasons has embarked on a religious career.

Penno (Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu)

Penno is the owner of a clothing and accessories store. He notices right away that Myne is a little different from the other kids and worries about her poor health.

Mark (Voiced by: Tomoaki Maeno)

Gunther (Voiced by: Tsuyoshi Koyama)
