Synopsis
Bad with people, introspective high schooler Miki usually passes her lonely days alone. Her world changes, however, when she meets transfer student Aya and is taken to a shop specializing in board games by their committee president Midori. Along with Emilia, a transfer student from Germany, the girls try out a German game and kick-start their cheerful life of everyday gaming fun.
Background
Hokago Saikoro Club is adapted from the manga by Hiro Nakamichi which is currently running in Monthly Shonen Sunday. The anime adaptation was announced in September 2018 and the first season will premiere Oct. 2, 2019. Voice actress Miyu Tomita will perform the series’ opening theme, "Present Moment,” while the ending, "On the Board,” will be performed by Miyu Tomita, Saki Miyashita, and Marika Kouno.
Characters
Aya (Voiced by: Marika Kono)
Aya is a recently arrived transfer student from Kyoto. She is cheerful and curious.
Midori (Voiced by: Miyu Tomita)
Midori is the committee president of Miki’s and Aya’s class. She works part-time at the Saikoro board game shop.
Miki (Voiced by: Saki Miyashita)
Miki is a kind but introspective high school girl who struggles with human communication and tends to get lost in the background.
Takeru Kinjo (shop owner) (Voiced by: Takaya Kuroda)
Takeru Kinjo is the owner of the Saikoro board game shop where the girls hang out and Midori works part-time. He looks a bit imposing because of his muscular physique but is actually very kind and gentlemanly.
Emilia (Voiced by M.A.O)
Emilia is a transfer student from Germany who dreams of becoming a board game designer. Her father runs a gaming cafe called “Geschenkt.”
