Synopsis
High school student Mizuki transfers into a new school in the middle of the school year and meets a group of four boys all suffering from chunibyo who make up the hero club. There’s Yamato who dreams of becoming a hero and trains every day; Tomoki, a handsome otaku who only likes 2D girls; Kazuhiro, an eccentric who thinks the god of darkness resides in his arm; and Rei, a self-proclaimed mastermind who pulls the strings. When she’s roped into the hero club’s activities, her peaceful days become anything but!
Background
Chubyo Gekihatsu-Boy is an anime adaptation of a light novel by Minato Tonami which is based on the song of the same name by Vocaloid producer rerulili. The novel is published by Kadokawa under their Kadokawa Beans Bunko imprint. The anime adaptation is being directed by Kazuya Ichikawa with series composition by Midori Goto, character designs by Arisa Matsuura, and music by Technoboys Pulcraft Green-Fund. The anime’s opening theme song is "Chubyo Gekihatsu Boy" by Minakami High School Heroes, and the ending theme is "Here Comes the Sun" by Shugo Nakamura. The anime will premiere in Japan on Oct. 4.
