Synopsis
African Office Worker follows the lives of pencil pushers in the office. However, these workers also happen to be animals common in the savanna and must coexist in a survival-of-the-fittest environment. The main character is a lion simply named Lion who works hard in middle management and strives to be the ideal boss.
Background
Originally an online manga series written by Gamu, African Office Worker began publication in December 2014. An anime adaptation produced by Production I.G ran online in June 2017. Each episode was only a few minutes in length. Tetsuya Tatamitani is directing a new anime adaptation that will begin airing in October 2019.
Characters
Lion (Voiced by: Akio Otsuka)
The main character of the story. Although large and intimidating in appearance, Lion is actually a warmhearted, hard-working boss. He is the senpai to Lizard and Toucan. He typically wears a gray suit to work.
Lizard (Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda)
Lion’s kouhai. Lizard has trouble catching jokes and takes things very seriously. He is the opposite of Toucan. He also wears a suit, but unlike Lion’s, his suit is olive green.
Toucan (Voiced by: Hiro Shimono)
Toucan is the kouhai of Lion. He gets confused and stresses out most of the time. He wears a black suit to work.
President Turtle (Voiced by: Akira Ishida)
President Turtle as you might guess is the president of the company. He is Lion’s boss. He is much older in age and moves slowly. Unlike the other animals, he doesn’t wear a suit.
Killer Hamster (Voiced by: Hina Kino)
Killer Hamster is small and adorable in appearance but always has an urge to kill. It often holds two kitchen knives in both hands. There may be more than one...
