Synopsis
“Is this really a massage?!”
First-year high school student Sota starts working part time at his family’s bath house as a backwasher, but he’s in for a surprise when fellow classmate Aoi starts frequenting the bath house in disguise and he has to wash her back! Things get even more steamy when she opts for a weight loss massage that borders on ecchi! Will she find out that Sota has been the one washing her? A love comedy between an awkward guy and a girl behind a red curtain begins!
Background
The anime adaptation Araiya-san! Ore to Aitsu ga Onnayu de!? is based on the manga Asoko Araiya no Shigoto: Kataomoi Chū no Aitsu to Onnayu de by Toyo. The manga is serialized on the ComicFesta website and other digital sources.
The anime is being directed by Mitsutaka Noshitani at Bagic Bus with Kazuhiro Toda penning the script, and Nanashi credited as the character designer and chief animation director. The opening theme song is "Renai Sen Session" by Ai Kitano and Ayaka Igasaki as their respective characters. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 7, 2019.
Characters
Aoi Yuzuki (Voiced by: Ai Kitano)
A first-year high school student and the ace of the female volleyball team. She always treats Sota harshly but deep down she has feelings for him.
Sota Tsukishima (Voiced by: Kaina Honma)
Sota is a weak member of the men’s volleyball team. He is always fighting with Aoi. His family runs a bath house, but he keeps this a secret from his teammates.
Mei Sasakura (Voiced by: Ayaka Igasaki)
The captain of the female volleyball team, Mei may look unassuming and sweet, but she also has a sharp side. Worried over keeping her buxom figure, she becomes very interested in weight loss massage.
Hidemoto Takasugi (Voiced by: Tetsuto Furukawa)
The captain of the men’s volleyball team, Hidemoto is both popular with and well respected by his fellow teammates
