About Totoro
Totoro is the titular character from My Neighbor Totoro, the third major release produced by Studio Ghibli and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The large, fluffy spirit lives in a forest and is capable of many fantastical feats. Being a forest spirit, Totoro looks like some sort of animal, but not any specific animal found in the real world. Instead, Totoro seems to share characteristics from a variety of different animals, like a grey bear-like body, long cat-like whiskers, and tall bunny-like ears, to name a few. After being found by the pair of sister protagonists, Totoro is often seen helping the siblings out in various ways.
