About Dragon Ball Z

The Dragon Ball Z (which is often shortened to DBZ by fans) is a continuation of the original Dragon Ball anime series produced by Toei Animation. It adapts the latter 325 chapters of the 519-chapter Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball Z continues the adventures of Son Goku and the Z-Fighters as they defend the Earth against aliens, androids and other near-indestructible beings found in the universe. Although the story centers around the main protagonist, Goku, viewers are greeted by both new and old characters from the original Dragon Ball series, which allowed for new scenarios and backstories that weren’t given in the first half of the manga.

Generally speaking, Dragon Ball Z is loved by many fans and critics alike. In fact, some claim that Dragon Ball Z is the greatest anime ever made due to the incredible influence it has had on the anime community in the Western world. After airing on the American TV channel, Cartoon Network, the series gained an incredible amount of popularity around the entire world.
