Donkey Kong Plushies - Merchandise
Donkey Kong is a popular series of video games that feature the titular gorilla “Donkey Kong” (sometimes shortened to just DK). After the release of the original release of the “Donkey Kong” arcade game in 1981, the character Donkey Kong and other characters have appeared in other games, like the Donkey Kong Country series and other various Mario games. Due to the success of the character and his video games, several different plushies recreating the characters’ likenesses have been released. Some of these plushies are shaped like DK himself, while others take the form of his companion Diddy Kong or his friendly rival, Mario. Among the various plushies that have been manufactured, here is an example of three popular items such as the “Donkey Kong 9” Plush”, “Diddy Kong 6 Plush", and the “Mario 5 Plush Keychain''.
Donkey Kong 9” Plush | Super Mario
This plushie of Donkey Kong is inspired by his appearance in various Mario games with his signature red and yellow “DK” necktie. Furthermore, the plushie shows the bulky gorilla hunched over on all fours, imitating the way he walks in-game. He is also almost completely covered in brown fur, with the exception of his ears, face, chest, arms, and feet. The fur on his head is also shaped into a curly point, creating his unique hairstyle. The plushie itself stands approximately 9 inches tall and features DK’s signature blank stare, which shows off his primitive personality. Since 1981, Donkey Kong has been well-received worldwide, and this plushie accurately portrays the character as he appears in more modern games, allowing fans to experience a cute and cuddly physical version of the popular gorilla.

About the Donkey Kong Characters
Although Donkey Kong (DK) is one of the most recognizable characters in all video games, other characters from the video game series have also gained the attention of many Nintendo fans, such as Diddy Kong, Mario, Dixie Kong, and even the antagonist King K. Rool. Many characters from the original video game released in 1981 are still household names in video games today. Donkey Kong, the main gorilla, is often followed around by Diddy Kong, who also lives on Donkey Kong Island. Mario, the famous Italian-inspired plumber character seen in many Nintendo games, also has made appearances in many subsequent games, as does King K. Rool. Although King K. Rool is depicted as a villain in the game, he too has become popular among fans. King K. Rool is the leader of the Kremlings, a group of villain crocodiles that first appeared in Donkey Kong Country, which first released in 1994. Dixie Kong, who's said to be Diddy Kong's girlfriend, also lives on Donkey Kong Island with the other characters and first appeared in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. Most of the characters from the Donkey Kong series of video games can be seen in various games alongside Nintendo's flagship character, Mario, further making the games and their characters even more popular.
