Kirby Amiibo - Merchandise
The Kirby series is one of Nintendo’s most popular video game franchises and first began as a Game Boy game called Kirby’s Dream Land. As the series gained popularity, many of its fans praised the Kirby games for their appealing characters and interesting gameplay. Its popularity led to a wide range of merchandise inspired by the series being created. One such example of Kirby merchandise that performs rather well can be found in Nintendo’s amiibo line of figures. These collectibles feature an incredible variety of characters from many different Nintendo properties, including Kirby. One unique feature of amiibo figures is that they have a chip installed in the figure that can communicate with many different Nintendo games to unlock various in-game features. Collectors and fans of Kirby can also enjoy these amiibo because they can simply act as affordable figures as well. The top three most popular Kirby amiibo are the “Kirby Series Wave 1 Kirby Amiibo”, the “Kirby Series Wave 1 Meta Knight Amiibo”, and the “Kirby Series Wave 1 King Dedede Amiibo”.
Kirby Series Wave 1 Kirby Amiibo (US Ver.)
This amiibo figure shows Kirby as his typical round, pink self as he rides around on his big, bright Warp Star. The figure has Kirby looking up at something with an arm out, as if he is waving to something. His simple big, blue eyes and blushing cheeks emphasize his cuteness as he shows off a wide, charming smile. Kirby’s big, red shoes rest in front of him, showing off just how small and round his body is. When this Kirby amiibo is used in the game Kirby: Planet Robobot, Kirby will gain the U.F.O ability, which can only be obtained with this amiibo. This ability allows Kirby to fly around the screen and shoot its enemies with lasers, providing a unique experience to players.

Kirby Series Wave 1 Meta Knight Amiibo (US Ver.)
This amiibo features Kirby’s mysterious rival, Meta Knight. Meta Knight is roughly the same shape as Kirby, as he has a small, round body and big shoes that are colored purple. A few noticeable differences between the two characters, however, is that Meta Knight wears a silver mask and has bright yellow eyes that glow underneath. The blue cape he wears can also be transformed into wings to help him fly for a short period of time. This figure also has Meta Knight wearing white gloves as he brandishes his iconic golden sword, making it look like he is about to strike. Although most of his face is covered by his mask, he looks ready for battle.

Kirby Series Wave 1 King Dedede Amiibo (US Ver.)
This amiibo figure is of King Dedede, a character often portrayed as an antagonist, though he lends a hand to Kirby from time to time. He is a big blue penguin with large yellow hands, feet, and beak. As his name suggests, King Dedede is a king, so he is dressed in fine royal robes. He wears a triangular patterned top with a red cape that has white fur lining it. On top of his head, he wears a red hat with a fluffy white pom pom. King Dedede is posing while holding a large wooden hammer in one hand, which he swings around to attack. The hammer face is lined in white and colored red with a big yellow star in the middle. While King Dedede holds the hammer in one hand, he lifts his other hand straight in front of him with his palm flat.

About the Characters
Kirby is a cute living pink ball that is the protagonist of every game in the Kirby series. Players often control Kirby and use his special “Copy” ability to suck up enemies and take their powers. Since there are a variety of abilities with their own unique moveset, players have the chance to find what works best for them.
Meta Knight often acts as a rival to Kirby and appears to block Kirby from reaching his goals, though he does end up helping Kirby sometimes as well. Although he always wears a large silver mask, he looks like just Kirby underneath, albeit a dark blue color rather than a bright shade of pink. Though this implies that there is a connection between Kirby and Meta Knight, details of this relationship are unknown.
King Dedede is the king of Dream Land on Planet Popstar, but he doesn't have much interest in ruling his kingdom. Although he is usually an antagonist in Kirby games, Nintendo has said that he is more of an “arch frenemy”, due to King Dedede sometimes helping Kirby out when a greater evil threatens the characters. King Dedede, like Kirby, can suck things up, though he cannot copy abilities like Kirby can.
