Monster Hunter Funko Pop - Merchandise
Monster Hunter is an incredibly popular Japanese RPG series that has players fight intense battles with huge monsters that dwarf them in both size and strength. The various different types of weapons and armor available to the player allows for an incredible amount of customization, which is one of the things that makes the series rather popular. Due to the series’ popularity, a wide range of merchandise has been created for fans to choose from. One of the most popular forms of merchandise is figures, especially those that depict the many different beasts that a hunter can come across on their quests and adventures. Funko Pop is an especially popular line of figures that are popular with Western fans due to their incredible selection of figures and their affordable price point. Pop! Games: Monster Hunter - Felyne
This Funko Pop figure features a Felyne, the helper characters for many games in the Monster Hunter series. Although characters often have the opportunity to customize their Felyne with different colors of fur and sets of armor while playing the game, this figure seems to depict a simple brown version of the feline helpers. Most of the body of this Funko Pop is a tan color, though its arms, legs, mouth, and ears all have a darker shade of brown. Its eyes, like many Funko Pop figures, are large and black, though the eyes on this Felyne figure seem to be larger than most. On its stomach, there is a small brown logo that looks like a paw print. It also has a rather simple pose. The Felyne stands straight up with one hand on its hip while the other is held out like it is waving to its partner with a happy smile on its face.
Pop! Games: Monster Hunter - Hunter
The Hunter in this Funko Pop figure wears a set of Rathian armor and wields a Giant Jawblade great sword. The figure also has short black hair. The set of Rathian armor is a dull shade of green and is composed of various pieces worn all around the body (but fused onto the figure). Some pieces include a piece attached to the head via a strap, a chestplate, and a pair of trousers that are all crafted out of materials that come from Rathians hunted by the Hunter. The great sword the Hunter carries is also nearly as tall as the character himself, though he seems to wield it with no issue. The blade of this particular sword is partially crafted out of bone, while the grip is made out of another material, like metal. The figure is also posed in a battle-ready stance, with his knees bent and his eyebrows knitted as if his target just came into sight.
Pop! Games: Monster Hunter - Rathalos
The Rathalos is an incredibly popular recurring monster in the Monster Hunter series. As the figure depicts, this dragon-like creature has the ability to fly and has incredibly sharp teeth and claws, which are filled with deadly poison. Although there are several varieties of Rathalos, this figure features the classic red variety. Its beautiful red scales cover most of its body, though its underside is notably tan, rather than red. Its wings also have the Rathalos’ distinct black markings, which look like long, thin flames. The figure is posed mid-air and has its deadly claws thrust forward as if it were about to attack an unseen target with its poison. Its giant, gaping mouth is also wide open, which also gives the figure a rather intimidating look despite its cute, chibi-like appearance.
Pop! Games: Monster Hunter - Zinogre
Zinogre is an electric four-legged beast with spikes that cover most of its legs, back, and tail. The body of the figure is covered in scales that are a shade of turquoise, though its many spikes take on a yellowish color. Zinogre’s spikes can also act as both an offense and a defense, as several sheets of them can be seen wrapping around vital points of the monster like its arms, chest, back, and head. On the other hand, the incredibly agile creature can use its dexterity to launch itself up in the air and crush its enemies with the pointy spikes. The pose of this figure has Zinogre on all four of its legs as it looks like it is about to pounce. Its large, open mouth also reveals two separate sets of deadly teeth.

Funko Pop figures are an incredibly popular brand of figures that were created in the United States. These figures are made with vinyl and seem to be somewhat inspired by the “chibi” aesthetic, as each of their figures has a rather enlarged head and eyes, black round eyes (with a few exceptions), and significantly smaller bodies. A majority of figures produced by Funko Pop are based on characters from popular culture, specifically those from entertainment series from movies, television series, comic books, anime, and video games. Many fans enjoy Funko Pop because of their incredible variety and cheap prices, as most figure lines in Funko Pop each have hundreds of figures that are usually available for under $20 USD each. That said, the more serious collectors of Funko Pop may spend much, much more for a single figure.
