OtapediaNezuko Nendoroid - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

Nendoroids are plastic models of characters which have been slightly modified from their usual forms. Nendoroids are made to be a chibi version of themselves. The term chibi in Japanese means small or short but in the case of a figure they are usually made to have a much larger head than usual with a small body to show a cutesy figure. The disproportional ratio of the head to the body is what makes these nendoroids so cute and lovable.

The nendoroids listed below are of the different versions available in the character, Nezuko Kamado from the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. Some of the paintwork done by the manufacturer is finished by hand so some of the final products may vary when compared to the pictures shown. Although there may be some variations the final products have a great likeness to the manga and anime character design drawn by the author Koyoharu Gotouge.

Nendoroid Availability

The Nezuko Kamado Nendoroids are set to be released on Tokyo Otaku Mode (TOM) Shop in April 2020 but were quickly out of stock due to popularity. Since there was a big demand for the Nezuko Kamado Nendoroids there is a second production run set to be released in August 2020. Due to the popularity of the nendoroid customers have a limit on how many they are allowed to order. Customers are only allowed to order a maximum of three per person.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Nezuko Nendoroid (Normal Version)

This nendoroid shows Nezuko in her 'normal' environment. She has been sculpted to be standing with her hands by her side a slight distance away from her body. Her hair is long, wavy and black reaching past her waist. The tips of her black hair is colored vermilion, and in her hair is a light pink bow tied to make her fringe stay off her face. She has a soft expression, her thin eyebrows not showing any signs of creasing with large light pink eyes. Around her mouth is the green bamboo gag tied with orange clothes to ensure her demon self does not attack any humans. She is dressed in her light pink kimono with geometric star patterns on it. The lining of the kimono is a much lighter shade of pink and she has a red and white checkered obi. To hold the obi in place she has an orange tie around the middle of her obi and a green tie above her obi. Over top her kimono is a black haori which covers her arms and reaches to the hem of her kimono. Around her legs are a black cloth tied in place with white string. On her feet she is wearing white socks and pink zori (Japanese sandals). Overall the nendoroid is great for just admiring the figure that is Nezuko in a cute form.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Nezuko Nendoroid (Squatting Version)

This nendoroid is a wooden box. It has a dark brown colour with black metal-like bars used to reinforce the structure. It has gray straps which can be used to place on the back of the Tanjiro Kamado Nendoroid (sold separately) just like the manga and anime. Similar to the normal version of the Nezuko nendoroid, this squatting version has the same outfit of the pink kimono and black haori. Her arms are also by her side a slight distance away from her body but instead of standing she is kneeling down as though she had just appeared from the wooden box. Her facial features are the same as the normal version showing a peaceful expression with no creases or lines on her face. When paired with the wooden box prop, this nendoroid shows off Nezuko’s cuteness as it seems to show her clueless atmosphere as she appears from the box.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Nezuko Nendoroid Demon Form

This version of the nendoroid shows Nezuko in her angry demon form. She has the same outfit as the anime and manga, a pink geometric star pattern kimono with a red and white checkered obi. Her black haori is flared out to accommodate her new pose. She has her hands in fists with her right hand moved forward as though she was about to punch something. The bottom of her kimono shows more of the lighter pink lining to allow for her leg movements. Her left leg in front of her right she is in a running motion with the kimono draped up near her knees. You can see most of her legs but her shins are still covered in the black cloth and white string while wearing her pink zori.

Her facial features are very different to the other two versions. Like the manga, during the battle scenes she has some veins bulging on her forehead as well as under both of her eyes, showing her anger. Her thin eyebrows which are usually in a soft curve shape and sharp and furrowed. She has lines near her eyebrows and eyes showing her furious expression. She still has the same pink eyes but her black pupils are in vertical slits giving her animal-like features. Her mouth which is usually covered by the bamboo gag can be slightly seen. The top of her white teeth are shown and her mouth is assumed to be clenched in anger. Overall this version of the Nezuko nendoroid shows her in a battle ready stance and ready to attack any demons she deems as her enemies.
