Anime Series Episodes - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
In the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) anime series there are a total of 26 Episodes (Season 1). There has been no official news or announcement on the release date of Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2. Therefore, the episodes are not out yet.
Season 1 Episodes
1. Cruelty:
In the Taisho Period, a young boy named Tanjiro Kamado and his family are living peacefully on a remote mountain. One day, when Tanjirou returns from selling charcoal in town, he finds the remains of his family who had been slaughtered by a Demon. The sole survivor is his sister Nezuko and he carries his sister down the snowy mountain to seek help. However, she has turned into a Demon and attacks him. A Demon hunter, Giyu Tomioka, arrives and tries to decapitate Nezuko. Tanjirou protects his sister and promises him that she will never eat humans. Giyu decides to let the siblings go and sends them to go see Sakonji Urokodaki on Mt. Sagiri.
2. Trainer Sakonji Urokodaki:
Tanjiro and Nezuko make their way to Mt. Sagiri. On the way the sibling gets attacked by a man-eating Demon and manages to restrain it. Not knowing how to kill the demon, Sakonji Urokodaki appears and orders him to crush its head. Tanjiro hesitates until daybreak and the sunlight kills the Demon instead. Urokodaki scolds Tanjiro for his weak resolve and kindness. Despite saying that, Urokodaki takes Tanjiro to the peak of Mt. Sagiri and tells him to return by daybreak. At the beginning Tanjiro struggles with booby traps and the mountain’s thin air. He manages to overcome this by utilising his keen sense of smell. Tanjiro returns by daybreak and Urokodoki accepts him as his disciple.
3. Sabito and Makomo:
Over the next 6 months, Urokodaki trains Tanjiro for the Demon Slayer Corps’s Final Selection. Demon Slayer corps are an organisation that hunts Demon. One day, Urokodaki promises Tanjiro that he would let him participate in the Final Selection if he can slice a boulder with his sword. Tanjiro fails to slice the boulder for the next 6 months. On the verge of giving up, two kids with fox masks, Sabito and Makomo, appear in front of him and help him train. The two reveal to him that they are orphans and also disciples of Urokodaki. Another 6 months passes and Tanjiro’s blade finally reaches Sabito and slices his mask into two. The two disappear without saying a word and Tanjiro releases that he had actually sliced the boulder instead.
4. Final Selection:
To pass the final selection participants must survive for seven whole days on Mt. Fujikasane where demons that were captured by demon slayers are imprisoned. Tanjiro uses the breathing technique and sword stances he learnt from Urokodaki to defeat the Demons, until he encounters the Hand Demon. The Hand Demon who was captured by Urokodaki confesses that he has killed 13 of his students including Sabito and Makomo. Tanjiro attacks the Demon in rage and successfully decapitate it.
5. My Own Steel:
After 7 days, Tanjiro and four others are the only ones left and they all pass the test. Uniforms and Kasugai Crow are handed out to them and they chose an ore for their own Nichirin sword. Tanjiro returns to Nezuko and Urokodaki. 15 days later, Tanjiro’s Nichirin sword is delivered by Haganezuka and when he wields the sword it turns black. Tanjiro receives his first mission from the Kasugai Crow and is ordered to head to town in the northwest and to eliminate the Demon who is responsible for the missing young girls.
6. Swordsman Accompanying a Demon:
Tanjiro arrives at the town where young girls have been vanishing at night. He meets Kazumi, whose fiance also vanished the previous night. Tanjiro uses his keen sense of smell and catches the scent of a Demon nearby, however, it is nowhere to be seen. Night falls and another girl gets abducted by a Demon which Tanjiro notices immediately. The Swamp Demon uses a “Blood Demon Art” and travels underground and has dispersed into three. Tanjiro and Nezuko fight the Demon together.
7. Muzan Kibutsuji:
Now split into three, Tanjiro fights two of them in their swamp underground and Nezuko protects the girl and Kazumi from the other. Using the Water Breathing Form, Tanjiro defeats the two and returns to the surface. He works together with Nezuko and defeats the remaining one. After successfully completing his first mission, Tanjiro heads to Asakusa. There he locates Muzan Kibutsuji living in disguise as an ordinary family man. Muzan gets confronted by Tanjiro and turns a passerby into a Demon by slicing his neck.
8. The Smell of Enchanting Blood:
The passerby who got turned into a Demon by Muzan Kibutsuji rampages, leaving Tanjiro to subdue it and letting Muzan escape. Police arrives and tries to take Tanjiro away until he is helped by two Demons, Tamayo and Yushiro. Even though she is a Demon she wishes to annihilate Kibutsuji. Kanjiro and Nezuko arrive at their secret hideout and Tamayo explains to them about her situation and Kibutsuji’s curse. Tanjiro agrees to work with Tamayo’s research and lets her study her sister's blood. She also asks Tanjiro to collect blood of Demons closely related to Kibutsuji, meaning Demons whose powers are more on par with that of Kibutsuji himself. Meanwhile, Muzan sends two Demons, Susamura and Yahaba, to kill Tanjiro.
9. Temari Demon and Arrow Demon:
The two Demons, Sasamura and Yahaba manages to find Tamayo’s hideout and attacks them. Although struggling at first, Tanjiro manages to overpower Yahaba and unleashes a combination of movements to decapitate Yahaba. Meanwhile, Nezuko and Yushiro fight the other Demon who uses a temari.
10. Together Forever:
Tamayo unleashes her own Blood Demon Art and joins the battle. Her ability forces the temari demon, Sasamura, to activate Kibutsuji’s curse by saying his name, which ends up killing her. Defeating the two Demons, Tanjiro and Nezuko parts ways with Tamayo and Yushiro. The sibling heads south-southeast for their next mission and meets another member who completed the Final Selection, Zenitsu Agatsuma.
11. Tsuzumi Mansion:
Guided by the crow, Tanjiro, Nezuko (in her box) and Zenitsu arrives at a mansion where they find two kids whose brother was taken away into the mansion. Tanjiro leaves Nezuko outside and enters the mansion with Zenitsu to save their brother. There they get separated as the house rearranges itself and encounters several demons. Tanjiro encounters the Demon of the house that has an ability to control the house by hitting the tsuzumi drums in his body. During the battle, a boar headed man with a pair of chipped nichirin sword arrives and enters the battle.
12. The Boar Bare its Fangs, Zenitsu Sleeps:
The boar headed young man, Inosuke Hashibara, is also a member of the Demon Slayer Corp. They fight the tsuzumi Demon until they get separated when the room shifts. Tanjiro then finds the brother of the siblings in a room carrying a tsuzumi drum. Meanwhile, Zenitsu encounters a Demon and faints. During his sleep, he stands up and kills the Demon by using his Thunder Breathing Form. Tanjiro on the other hand leaves the sibling in a room and head towards the tsuzumi Demon.
13. Something More Important Than Life:
By analysing the effects of each tsuzumi drum, Tanjiro manages to defeat the tsuzumi Demon and extract its blood. Tanjiro reunites with the sibling and leaves the mansion where he finds a badly wounded Zenitsu protecting Nezuko’s box. Inosuke had come out of the mansion right after Zenitsu and tried to destroy the box, however, stopped by Zenitsu. Even though Zenitsu knew that there was a Demon inside the box, he trusted Tanjiro as he said it was more important than his life.
14. The House with the Wisteria Family Crest:
Tanjiro punches Inosuke and they fight bare-handed as it is against the rule for Demon Corp members to draw swords to each other. Tanjiro ends up headbutting Inosuke which causes him to collapse from a concussion. Inosuke wakes up and the Kasugai crow orders the group to descend the mountain and to follow him. The group are then led to a house where their wounds are treated by a doctor.
15. Mount Natagamo:
After the group has been healed, the Kasugai crow orders the three to head to Mt. Natagumo. When they arrive, they find a terrified Demon Slayer, Murata, who informs them that ten higher ranked Demon Slayers came to the mountain but started killing each other. The group (except for Zenitsu) moves forward and finds the captured Demons Slayers. The Demon Slayers attack the group as they are controlled by threads. Realising that some are still alive, Tanjiro and the crew free them, but the puppet strings get reattached by a Demon. The Demon is the Mother of the Spider Family accompanied by a white haired Demon boy, Rui. Meanwhile, reinforcement is on the way as two Hashiras, Tomioka Giyu and Shinobu Kocho heads towards the mountain.
16. Letting Someone Else Go First:
Murata tells Tanjiro and Inosuke to go after the mother Demon as he holds off the captured slayers. Meanwhile, Zenitsu wonders into the mountain not knowing where everyone is. By working together, Tanjiro and Inosuke defeats the Mother and the Demon warns them that one of the Twelve Demon Moons is on the mountain.
17. You Must Master a Single Thing:
Zenitsu encounters a Spider Demon with a human head, the elder brother of the Spider Family. He runs away and finds the nest of the Demons where other Demon Slayers were captured. The elder brother informs Zenitsu that they were all going to be turned into a demon-spider due to his poison. He also reveals that Zenitsu has already been bitten and will turn into a spider in thirty minutes. As the poison starts to affect, Zenitsu’s hair falls out and he loses consciousness. While asleep, he uses his thunder breath to kill the elder brother. He wakes up and finds that the poison had spread throughout his body. He uses the breathing technique to slow the poison from spreading. After defeating the mother, Tanjiro and Inosuke comes across with the Daughter of the Spider Family and also encounters the Father.
18. A Forged Bond:
The two hashiras arrive at the mountain and split up to cover more ground. Shinobu manages to find Zenitsu in time and heals him. During the fight between Tanjiro, Inosuke and the Father Demon, Tanjiro gets blown away and finds the young Demon boy, Rui, torturing his sister. Struggling to defeat the Father Demon, Inosuke is on the verge of getting his head squashed when Giyu comes to the rescue. Giyu quickly defeats the Father spider.
19. Hinokami:
Rui decides to give his sister another chance and orders her to kill the other Demon Slayers on the mountain. Tanjiro and Nezuko fights Rui, but struggles with his enhanced red threads. Tanjiro fears for his death and remembers his father’s kagura dance. He decides to incorporate the dance with his sword which changes his water dragon into fire, Hinokami Dance Breathing. Nezuko also uses her blood art which ignites her blood and the thread burns towards Rui. With the siblings attack combination Tanjiro decapitates Rui.
20. Pretend Family:
Tanjiro collapses from his wounds and is unable to get back up. Rui, on the other hand stands up and puts his head back on. He then explains that he cut his own head off first with his thread. Just when Rui was about to attack Tanjiro, Giyu arrives and saves him by defeating one of the Twelve Moon Demons. Meanwhile, the sister of the Spider Family attacks Murata but is stopped by Shinobu. Shinobu uses her Insect Breathing and the poison coated on her sword to kill the Sister Spider Demon.
21. Against Corps Rule:
Giyu recognises Tanjiro and Nezuko from their meeting two years ago. He protects them from Shinobu who demands him for an explanation for acting against Corps rules. Tanjiro and Nezuko run away but soon captured by Kanao Tsuyuri, the girl who also completed the Final Selection with Tanjiro, also the same clansmen as Shinobu. The Kasugai crow then interrupts and orders them to bring Tanjiro and Nezuko back to headquarters. Inosuke, Zenitsu and other victims were treated by the Kukushis, a cleanup unit, and taken back to the Butterfly mansion for further treatment.
22. Master of Mansion:
When Tanjiro wakes up, he is tied and sitting in front of all nine hashiras. They put him on trial for going against the Demon Slayer Corps rule - for travelling with a Demon. Tanjiro explains his situation and swears that his sister will never hurt humans. However, the hashiras are not convinced by Tanjiro’s words. The master of the Demon Slayers comes in and gives permission for the situation. But most of the hashiras disapprove. One of the hashiras, Sanemi Shinazugawa, agrees to let Tanjiro live but refuses to let Nezuko live. He then throws Nezuko’s box into the house and takes her out. He cuts his own arm and tells Nezuko to attack him.
23. Hashira Meeting:
Nezuko remembers her family and refuses to attack him. With that being a proof that she can be trusted, Nezuko is left safe and Tanjiro is granted to travel with her again. The sibling then gets sent to the infirmary where Zenitsu and Inosuke are getting treated.
24. Rehabilitation Training:
Kyojiro Rengoku leaves on a mission, believing an Upper level Twelve Moon is involved. Tanjiro and Inosuke begin Rehabilitation Training to rebuild their stamina and Zenitsu joins them later on. The training consists of stretching, reflex training and full-body training where they play tag with Aoi and Kanao. Even though they can beat Aoi, they just can’t beat Kanao. It continued for several days and one day Zenitsu and Inosuke stopped coming to the training room. Tanjiro gets advice from the triplet Kocho girls and practises using Total Concentration Breathing constantly and maintaining it all day and night.
25. Tsuguko, Kanao Tsuyuri:
Tanjiro continues to practise the technique and finally masters it. Next day in training Tanjiro beats Kanao which makes Zenitsu and Inosuke train harder to catch up with him. Tanjiro is fully healed and asks Shinobu if she has ever heard of Hinokami Kagura Dance or Fire Breathing. Shinobu tells him that she has never heard of it and advises him to ask Sengoku who uses Flame Breathing.
26. New Mission:
Muzan Kibutsuji disposes of all except for one Lower Twelve Moon. The one left alive was given his blood and was ordered to kill Demon Slayers. One morning, a Kasugai crow reports that the casualties of the Infinite Train are increasing with more than 40 people already missing. The crow orders Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke to go join with Kyojuro Rengoku on site and to head west. Tanjiro bids farewell and thanks everyone who helped him. The three arrive at their destination and are now on the train with Sengoku.
Season 2 Episodes
There has been no official news or announcement on the release date of Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2. Therefore, the episodes are not out yet.
