Who created the Fate franchise?
The Fate franchise began in 2004 with the visual novel Fate/stay night developed by TYPE-MOON and written by Kinoko Nasu - one of the founding members of the video game company in addition to Takashi Takeuchi. They are the creators of Fate. However, since then anime, anime films, anime shorts, anime specials, arcade games, light novels, visual novels, manga, sound drama, and a very popular mobile game has been created as part of the universe. A variety of talented illustrators, designers, animators, writers, studios, and more have worked on different series over the years.
Tl;dr: Kinoko Nasu and Takashi Takeuchi of the TYPE-MOON video game company in 2004 with their creation of the visual novel Fate/stay night.
*What is Fate about?
It is about a war fought in hopes that by winning a wish of theirs will be granted. These wars are called Holy Grail Wars and they are fought by people called Masters who are usually mages using fighters called Servants which are people famous from history for their strength summoned into the modern day. Their Masters must be strategic with their approach and their Servants must be powerful so that they will be the last pair standing in order to claim the Holy Grail which is the wish granting prize of the Holy Grail War. It is said that it can grant any wish even as long as the wisher knows how it could be carried out. It could take thousands of men and not be possible for the wisher to do, but as long as they have, say the outline of how in their mind, the Holy Grail would be able to grant the wish.
Tl;dr: Fate is about people, usually magesl, controlling heroes from history summoned into modern life in order to be the last pair standing in a war for the prize of a wish being granted.
OK so what is the Nasuverse?
The Nasuverse includes other games developed by TYPE-MOON which are in the same universe as the Fate franchise, but are stories of their own with unique characters and plots unlike that in the Fate works.
